What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Haven't played this for a while and sounding very rousing - Just love his voice and the upbeat tempo of the musicians - Playing on Compact Disc on Real World Records 1992
Miles Davis - At Plugged Nickel, Chicago Vol 2.
Deep Purple - Burn
Having powered-up the system this morning after yesterday's atmospheric excitement and giving it time to settle, I've got some catching up to do. Decided to start with this, Seal's second album, and my second favourite (after his first).
(1983)
ZZ Top - Eliminator
Just because I fancied a bit oft their hard hitting blues/rock while they milked the MTV scene it didn't detract from their music or their direction IMHO.
Doug Macleod - There is a Time. 88.2/24 flac
Doug MacLeod (guitar/vocals)
Denny Croy (bass)
Jimi Bott (drums)

What a nice guy, and a great player. We saw him at a house gig last year, sitting about four feet away, and had a good chat.
Michael Franks - The art of tea
The sweet voice of Michael Franks.
- Michael Franks – vocals
- Michael Brecker – saxophone
- David Sanborn – saxophone
- Joe Sample – keyboards
- Larry Bunker – vibraphone
- Larry Carlton – guitar
- Wilton Felder – bass
- John Guerin – drums
- Jerry Seinholtz – congas
Slowdive - Slowdive
My apologies but I can't remember which forum member mentioned this band in a different thread a few weeks ago.
The opening track Slomo is brilliant.
Very similar style to The War on Drugs well to me anyway.

He is a genuine bluesman - never had the priviledge of meeting him but pleased by your comment as that is what exudes from his playing. Thanks.
Del Amitri - Change Everything.

It was a bit weird, in a house in Emsworth with 50 people. I had to keep moving my feet to avoid kicking Doug’s toes! We have some interesting people - last week it was Yves Lambert from Quebec. He is really nice too, and I was selling his CDs in the break.

Wow- sounds fun but you probably would need a bit more stomping room for Yves!
Tidal. The Beatles - Revolver
Along with Rumours, this is my favourite Fleetwood Mac album.
Victory - The Broken Instrument
Goodness, this gal is good!

Eric Clapton - There's One in Every Crowd, from '75 and still a favourite.
One of my favourite Slowhand albums as well. Always felt it never got the kudos it deserved.
Hi Res 12 track version. His best for sometime.

This is the only ZZ Top album I have. I really should do something about that, what would you recommend Steve?

Superb 24/96 recording of Chuckles' recent Hyde Park mega-gig.
Woof!
And what a fantastic show it was, where do I get a copy of this?
