A nice way to get some of your five a day in, Tony.
Was looking through some old diaries I have from around 1970 and found out that I had actually gone to see them at my local Dance Hall. Totally forgot. I was probably too busy trying to pick up a woman to pay much attemtion to them.
Vinyl reissue originally released 1958 - Recorded in a single session, and a superb solid set. Great album. ????

Paul Chambers - bass

ZZ Top - Eliminator
Just because I fancied a bit oft their hard hitting blues/rock while they milked the MTV scene it didn't detract from their music or their direction IMHO.
This is the only ZZ Top album I have. I really should do something about that, what would you recommend Steve?
Simon, ZZ Top fall into 3 eras; their early blues rock in the 70's with a blues bias, their more commercial (MTV video accompanied era) of the 80s continuing into the 90s with much more of a funky rock added to the blues, finally their music since 2000 which is a whole mix of rock, funk, blues and bonkers which not all their fans appreciated but I enjoy. As you like Eliminator which is their middle period then do try Afterburner and Recycler. Then work your way forward in time through more of their pre-2000 albums. Do try one of their early albums like Tres Hombres or Rio Grande Mud to get a sense of where they have come from. Depending how you are getting along with their albums I would leave everything from 2000 onward until last. Finally, if you like their 70's and early 80's albums and are going to buy CDs then do make sure to get the earliest mid 80's Warner Brothers copies which reflect the very good dynamic range, sound and recording quality. There are recent box sets but a quick look at the Dynamic Range database shows these to be very compressed and loudness mastered. Heres hoping you will enjoy your 'Tops voyage I've loved and been addicted to their stuff for over forty years they are great fun. Cheers

It's a grey area Slim. As no money is changing hands, it's not illegal.
You'll need a BT client as well - which one you use is up to you, and to your computer's operating system. As a Mac OSX user, I use Transmission, but everyone has their own favourite.
It's rather like the old days of tape trading, when fans would swap bootleg cassettes through the post. An artist could legitimately request that the concert or studio outtake is removed, but it's unlikely that this sort of activity would land anyone up in court, because no money is changing hands, and no mechanical copyright is being violated.
In addition, because of the way BT works, there is no central place where files are held so it's difficult to determine exactly where the material is coming from.
An explanation here - https://computer.howstuffworks.com/bittorrent.htm
And some sites, especially Dime, are very strict about not allowing copyrighted or commercially released material on, so it's not like The Pirate Bay or similar sites.
On SACD (DSD stereo straight to analogue). Coz it's great!
