On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Playing on Compact Disc - A fine Chili Peppers album from 2006

Yes, released 1996, never on vinyl. Only record of her when she was alive.
Dusko Goykovich - Celebration
Listening to this week's album from the jazz corner topic. Dusko Goykovich is a new name for me. Sounding very nice so far.
Had a search on Amazon for Bobbie Gentry CDs and was gob-smacked at the prices being asked. Ended up ordering this "Best of ...' compilation (though the cover of the CD that arrived with me today is different to the image above taken from Amazon's website). Anyway, while I haven't heard any of her music for more years than I care to remember, I was quite surprised at not only how familiar many were but that I found myself singing some of the lyrics! Our memories work in strange ways at times.
So an enjoyable dip into a bit of the past I thought I had forgotten.
Van Morrison - Beautiful Vision.
I've been filling in the gaps in my Van collection, well, actually, adding to a solitary "Greatest Hits" album, as a start point.
This album from '82 is just lovely, so I think that's me done for now, and 24 Van albums purchased over the last couple of
weeks ain't bad going.
As I've mentioned, it's taken me until now to get into his music, just as well much of it available for pennies on The River.
After Bobbie G, a change of pace with Evanescence.
Ali Farka Toure with Ry Cooder - Talking Timbuktu, lovely recording.

'Tis indeed a beautiful album, and this collaboration works well too, which, if you've not heard it, is highly recommended.
Ry Cooder & V.M. Bhatt - A Meeting by the River.
Just looked, and it's on yon Tidal thingy ............. have a bash.
These superb unreleased Walter Becker tracks from the site below. ????

See Jazz corner :-)
Wilko Johnson - Red Hot Rocking Blues.
I've been immersing myself in Van Morrison for the last couple of weeks ........... surely one of the world's great singers.
Wilko, on the other hand, could never be described as having a great singing voice ............ but what he does have is boundless
enthusiasm, and a unique style all of his own ............... great stuff, rock on Wilko!
Have not had a holiday out and about yet So need some outreach refreshment of sorts
All this talk of Wilko had me reaching for this,Cheers again Dave
And some more Evanescence. I think this is my favourite of their albums.
Wilko Johnson - Blow Your Mind.
^^^ Oh well, why not ..............the indefatigable Wilko ........... not forgetting his two chums, Norman Watt-Roy and Dylan Howe,
surely, between them, one of the finest rhythm sections around ............ and as a threesome, stunningly good live, as I found out
recently in Leeds.
As previously mentioned, keep on rockin' Mr. Johnson.
Aimee Mann - 'Bachelor No. 2 or the last remains of the dodo'.
What an interesting album title. This must be my favourite of her albums after Til Tuesday - some really gorgeous songs, but I feel it's let down a bit by an over-congested, thick, mix.
Teddy Edwards - Teddy's ready!
Great jazz from 1960.
Teddy Edwards (tenor saxophone), Joe Castro (piano), Leroy Vinegar (bass), Billy Higgins (drums).
Pacific Express. On Time.
Ripped from a recent reissue.
Vinyl reissue originally released 1971 - EWF second studio album is only short, but there's some fine jazz funk tracks. ????
Some fine Wooden Shjips from 2011 and 2012, the first is just an A & B side while the second is a short EP length album of good remixes.
I still have the NAP500 DR on loan, so just thought I'd give this a spin on vinyl. 'Day of the Eagle' is just so rhythmic. Next, the title track. A favourite album for rather a long time. Sounds superb! If I had to list my top 20 rock albums, this would surely be somewhere near the top.
Graham Nash - Over the Years, WAV CD rip
After a stunning gig from Nash at the Lowry last night, listening to his “latest”, a CD of his 15 most popular songs, the original releases from Nash, Crosby & Nash, CSN and CSNY remastered. These are great songs. He’s a world-class songwriter, a fantastic singer, and especially with his old pals the music is sublime. The album comes with a second disc of the original demos of the tracks, very lovely versions.

This seems like a bit of a winner and must buy Eoin...
