What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
1998 - Vinyl - UK pressing...
A terrific new album on ECM.
‘Hazey Jane II’ - Nick Drake (from ‘Way To Blue’)
Pretty much perfect. As is everything by this (clearly troubled) genius. But this is the track for me, every time.
Gail Ann Dorsey - Wasted Country, promo disc from '88 featuring tracks from her soon to be released debut The Corporate World.
Produced by Nathan East she herself went on to do great things on the bass guitar, more noticeably with Bowie
The Cats - Tommy Flanagan, John Coltrane, Kenny Burrell, and Idrees Sulieman, recorded in 1957, released in 1959. Cd rip.
John Coltrane – tenor saxophone
Tommy Flanagan – piano - trio track 2
King Buffalo-Orion
If you like All Them Witches then you'll like this too.
The Gloaming - Live at the NCH (2018). New group to me, saw them mentioned here. Interesting mix of traditional Irish music, rock, and classical. It grows on you..if you give it a few listens.
Something special...
Nat Birchall, best known for spiritual jazz, does roots reggae. Very good. From Bandcamp.
Polina Osetinskaya - Hummel & Field
Playing on Vinyl - Got this version at a Charity Shop for 10 p and it's a good version - Very nice recording and performance
Alban Berg Quartet - Schubert
Playing on Double Vinyl - Nice enough version of this Vivaldi piece
Black Midi, 12th June 2018, Brixton Windmill
Hi @KEVIN_W, I've just booked to see the boys on 26 Sept. Come along & feel the noise
John Hicks trio - Is that so?
Fine jazz by John Hicks.
Tame Impala - Currents
Imagine a festival, maybe you are sitting on a bale of hay towards to the back. Your partner is considering investivating the 'retail opportunities' for a shawl to prevent sunburn on her shoulders. You both have a cold beer, though you have drunk more of yours than she has of hers. These guys are on stage, maintaining that mid afternoon festival vibe
All very imaginary because looking at the CD sleeve, all instruments and vocals seem to be performed by Kevin Parker. Maybe he could get a band together?
(Please change pronouns as applicable).
Seems like a good day for some Shostakovich.
