On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Something gentle and delightful as a warm up for my listening session today.
Having enjoyed a bit of Cara Dillon I've now selected something very visceral. Earlier today I heard some of this album on a friend's top-flight LP12. It sounded so good I promised myself I'd give the whole album a play later in the day. A great piece of work is this.
On CD:-
Wishbone Ash - Pilgrimage

Oooh. I haven't played that in a while. Think I'll dig it out of the rack.
Paul Simon - Graceland: The Remixes
A different take on an iconic album.
Funky. it's pretty darn good.
A friend introduced me to this band this morning. Completely new to me and an instant hit
So this album has been ordered and in the meantime I'm enjoying the sampler CD that apparently comes with vinyl.
(1974)
Steely Dan - Pretzel Logic
I finished last night listening to Steely Dan and I'm still in need of some more...
Bennie Wallace - The old songs.
Jazz in that typical style of Bennie Wallace. Six songs are in the trio setting (sax, bass and drums). On three other songs a pianist joins.
- Bennie Wallace - Sax
- Bill Huntington - Bass
- Alvin Queen - Drums
- Lou Levy - Piano
(1996)
Sting - Mercury Falling
I'm not a particular fan of his solo work but there are a number of tracks on this one that used to hit the spot.
Now playing........
Carrie Newcomer - before & after
Streaming on TIDAL.......... An album I had placed in the TIDAL queue a while back and getting around to taking it out for a spin. Released 8+ years ago and Carrie has a sweet voice.......
1969 - vinyl - US pressing....
(1991)
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - The Sky is Crying
Because I just fancied some SRV and I just lurve his take on the Hendrix Little Wing. This album is a collection of some of his unpublished work and was released quite quickly by his record label after his unfortunate and untimely death in a helicopter accident in 1990.
1968 - Vinyl - US pressing...
FZ & The Mothers of Invention - We’re Only In It For The Money
Joe Jackson - The Duke.
A nice duo...
Al Stewart - Year of the Cat, WAV CD rip
Seeing him in a few days, always loved this album, classy folk rock, lovely songs brilliantly sung.
2003 - CD (NAS rip)...
1989 - Vinyl - UK first pressing...
Supertramp - Breakfast in America (1978). Because it's been a very long time. I had tickets to see these guys in 1979 for this tour, the show was cancelled unfortunately.
