I suspect I almost over-dosed on this on its release and when I saw Nerina perform it but having had a bit of  rest I find it still holds its magic.

Saw her at the weekend.

  Van Morrison - Avalon Sunset.

I've only recently started listening seriously to Van's music, (no, don't ask, since I don't know either!), and have been stocking up

  cheaply via The River.

There's some fabulous stuff there on the twenty or so albums I've purchased so far, but this one is really doing it for me, and stands

head and shoulders above the others, IMHO.

  Can't stop playing it.

Awesome, I know this one well, this and Wavelength are top notch Van.

That is spooky Mike. I was playing this about the same time you were and was going to post here but work took over. Anyway you have saved me a job. Lovely album, lovely voice and lovely choons.

Why?

well after listening to it a few weeks ago in the background I forgot about it and it was mentioned earlier by [@mention:70553749506420292] and now that I’ve managed to get MQA and HQP playing ball again I thought I’d give it another spin. Some stunning playing and fantastic SQ.

I mean really, Van has so many good albums. Depending on the day, there are many of his that could be my current favourite.

Dave, I am a big Van fan and have many of the albums you have recently been collecting. My favourite Van album is The Philosophers Stone. Not sure if you have got around to this classic Van album (IMHO), if not I would urge you to give it a listen. It is a double album of 33, yes 33, tracks, all belters again IMHO.

No more music for this evening, as I'm off to watch the new series. of Better Call Saul, series 4, now on Netflix.

Just mentioning for any other fans who didn't know that it was back with us.

Hi, Nigel, I've tracked down a copy of this double album, and it's on it's way .......... not the cheapest, but, hey ho.

Yer a bad man, as you've told me often enough!

Just fancied a string quartet before bedtime, but stumbled upon this version of the Bruch A- String Quintet, which is just the ticket. An early naim cd, ripped to NS01.

Hmmm I wonder if anything will actually happen in season 4. Three seasons is a pretty long intro.

Boz Scaggs - Out of the Blues

Boz Scaggs - Out of the Blues

Streaming on NAS..........  A recent purchase of this release (July 27, 2018) and taking it out for its third spin, Boz is sounding mighty sweet!

Now Playing......

Ketil Bjornstad - A Suite of Poems [Lars Saabye Christensen

Ketil Bjornstad - A Suite of Poems (Lars Saabye Christensen)

Ketil Bjørnstad (piano) and Anneli Drecker (voice).

Streaming on TIDAL.........  I do enjoy reading poetry and the thought of taking poems that were written in hotel rooms by the writer,Lars Saabye Christensen, while traveling and mailing to Ketil with the hope that he will write music for them is intriguing. This is my second time giving this a listen and enjoy it and have decided to place an order for the album. Supporting the arts......

Thought she was really good pity the crowd IMHO were a bit lethargic. To be honest she isn't someone I follow much but she impressed me enough to dig out her albums and have a re-listen. Sometimes I need to see soemone live before I "get" into them
