I suspect I almost over-dosed on this on its release and when I saw Nerina perform it but having had a bit of rest I find it still holds its magic.

Saw her at the weekend.
What did you make of her performance, ewemon?
Thought she was really good pity the crowd IMHO were a bit lethargic. To be honest she isn't someone I follow much but she impressed me enough to dig out her albums and have a re-listen. Sometimes I need to see soemone live before I "get" into them
Thanks, Ewe. I've seen her quite a few times now and have become a big fan.

Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos - Very nice Vivaldi Cello Concerti
Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos - A delightful Oboe piece by Vivaldi
Looking forward to seeing him, play this live tomorrow. Still one of my all time favourite albums. (The original, although I also really enjoy this much later version).

Van Morrison - Avalon Sunset.
I've only recently started listening seriously to Van's music, (no, don't ask, since I don't know either!), and have been stocking up
cheaply via The River.
There's some fabulous stuff there on the twenty or so albums I've purchased so far, but this one is really doing it for me, and stands
head and shoulders above the others, IMHO.
Can't stop playing it.
Dave, I am a big Van fan and have many of the albums you have recently been collecting. My favourite Van album is The Philosophers Stone. Not sure if you have got around to this classic Van album (IMHO), if not I would urge you to give it a listen. It is a double album of 33, yes 33, tracks, all belters again IMHO.
Hi, Nigel, I've tracked down a copy of this double album, and it's on it's way .......... not the cheapest, but, hey ho.
Yer a bad man, as you've told me often enough!
Don't be so tight Dave. Sounds like you have had good value out of Van albums from the River so far. Time now to stump up some proper cash!
Would be interested to know what you think of The Philosopher's Stone.

It’s available on Tidal, haven’t listened to it in ages but remember thinking at the time that what he threw away was of a superlative quality, quite an RnB influence IIRC.

Roon has led me from Ian Dury to Wilko Johnson.
and coincidently another Huey Paino Lewis track - don’t you just know it.

Certainly one of my Van favourites, Nigel.

Call it a tribute, and a thank you.
1989 - vinyl - UK pressing...
Four Tet - New Energy
Good to work to.

It's arriving tomorrow, so will post my thoughts once I've had a listen, though from the comments thus far, it'll be a cracker.
In the meantime, this:
Van Morrison - The Healing Game.
Mellow jazzy album from Van ................... I'm certainly making up for lost time, belatedly getting into his music.
Playing on Vinyl on Sire Records - Seamless synth pop from the Mighty Depeche Mode
The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Tuff Enuff. The Red Devils - King King.
Just some bar-room boogie ............... sometimes, simple is good!
Really nice Dub Bob Marley album - Great Versions of all the big tracks - Playing on Vinyl on Tuff Gong Records 2012
City of London Sinfonia - Handel Water Music.
"And now for something completely different" ^^ .................. and why not?
Playing on Vinyl on Enigma Records 1985 - United States - Paisley Underground Giant Sand.
The Unthanks - "Mount the Air" 7Digital 24/44.1kHz (FLAC conv't to WAV)
I've heard them on old occasions but have not had a serious listen (& thats shame on me) Last Friday BBC TV broadcast the Folk Proms & I finally had the chance to have a serious listen & that prompted me to buy this album (download).
In just a few words; mesmerising, amazingly beautiful music. Their own style of Northumberland, Geordie & other folk music & especially their vocal harmonisation is simply breathtaking.
Just Finished................
Charles Lloyd - Sangam
Charles Lloyd (saxophone, tarogato, flute, piano, percussion), Zakir Hussain (tabla, percussion), and Eric Harland (drums, percussion, piano).
Streaming on NAS................. A recently purchased album of the fabulous Charles Lloyd and for the third straight day, the first album of the day is lead by Charles!
