On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Texas - Mother's Heaven. the second album when they were still a bone fide group. This one is solid enough but seemed to go under the radar.
Good call - "Southside" is still one of my reference LP's, the songs have staying power and I always find myself going back to it.
Meat Loaf
Bat Out Of Hell - 24/192
Sounding brilliant through the Nova.

Ditto
"Charmed Life" by The Flaming Mussolinis:
Why? Well, the songs on this record are so good they still hold up today but it's an excellent reference LP being superbly mixed and has a great variation in speed, dynamics and tempo to test the abilities of pretty much any set-up. It's never far from my rack...
Steely Dan - Can't Buy A Thrill.
Do debut albums get much better than this?
Nope.
(1973)
After the transfer deadline day mayhem I'm opening up with a bit of CAN which, has been going around in my head for the last hour or so, what a fine album Future Days is. This one ripped from their 2005 hybrid SACD
1972 - Vinyl - UK pressing...
Earl Hooker - There's A Fungus Among Us
Double (UK) vinyl. For me, this is her best work, just shading Hounds of Love.
Another one for Steely Dan's Can't buy a thrill, only listening to it yesterday along with Gaucho and Pretzel Logic! all superb.
1976 - Vinyl - US pressing...
1967/68 studio sessions.
UB40 - Signing Off.
A great debut from UB40, probably their best album, IMHO.
Philippe Duchemin trio - Live!
(2016)
Wolf People - Ruins
This a very fine band who improve from album to album from what was a high starting point. They are a prog-rock band with a light touch of folk rock (mercifully) who nod back to some of the great 60s and 70s bands doing rock, folk and psychedelic.
Jim Steinman
Jim Steinman's Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical - Tidal HiFi
Brillant album, must try and see the show.

I think I'll join you Steve.
This is their Steeple album, on vinyl.

Lovely mono vinyl from the 2017 box set. Just fancied something Kinky:
Keith Jarrett trio - At the Blue Note
(2013)
Weedpecker's eponymous debut album. Grungy, psychedelic stoner rock. This will do me nicely while I go and get another one...
Billy Idol - Idol Songs - 11 Of The Best.
Pop pap, I know, but he had some great choons .................. hugely entertaining stuff, and which puts a smile on yer face.
Gwenifer Raymond fantastic guitarist
