On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
I've only just discovered this album and have been listening to it on YouTube. Rather enjoyable although difficult to find a reasonably priced version.

Ceremony - New Order (from ‘Substance’)
You know that feeling when you think to yourself ‘be still, New Order are playing and everything is ok’...? That feeling.
Nick, I'm gonna join you.
But I'm playing the super-rare gatefold (normal copies came in a single sleeve with a different design) vinyl version, The Gatefold Substance. Only 1,000 copies made (this is copy number 0781.
Vinyl released 2015 - Marius Neset, is a Norwegian saxophone prodigy who has made major waves on the European jazz scene. This is a fine album. ????
1966 - vinyl - Uk first pressing...
The Kooks - Inside In Inside Out
I bought this on CD yesterday for 99p, I'm really not familiar with their music, however it's not bad at all and there is at least one track I do recognise.
A bargain and well worth a punt.
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
On CD
Not so much working in my case, rather more lazing and trying not to fall asleep. The Rogers-Hart opening track on this 1956 album, "It Never Entered My Mind" is just gorgeous, with some beautifully melodic piano playing from Red Garland. The tempo picks up for the next track, Miles' own "Four", which works for the band, but the drums of Philly Joe Jones drive the tune IMO. It's a tremendously good recording too, recorded at RVG's Hackensack studio.
Now playing........
Boz Scaggs - A Fool To Care
Streaming on TIDAL........... ended the day yesterday with Boz and now kicking off the day with him as well, a fun & fantastic album with a couple of duets with Bonnie Rain & Lucinda Williams as an added bonus! Worth a listen if you enjoy the Boz......
Funky sounds for a Saturday. The next best thing to listening to his radio shows:
Art Pepper - Straight life
A very good album from Art Pepper.

- Piano – Tommy Flanagan
- Reco-reco, Cowbell – Kenneth Nash (tracks: B2)
