What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
(2017)
Neil Young + The Promise Of The Real - The Visitor
This fine album one of my favourites from last year is (almost) making me forget what is and has been a soaking wet day here.
Yellowjackets - Time squared
Nice jazz (with some smooth jazz elements) by the Yellowjackets.
Surely no excuse is required to listen to Sandy Denny and the British folk-rock elite playing rock and roll standards and having so much fun doing it. A real fun album.

Graham Parker - Burning Questions, on vinyl from 1992. Another LP I've not listened to in some time. Pete Thomas from the Attractions on drums, Mick Talbot from the Style Council on keyboards, Andrew Bodnar from the Rumour on bass, Eddie Manion on saxophone and P.P Arnold on backing vocals. Good to hear this after so long.
He’s got new album out in September. ????

Now on my playlist for later
Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809): Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, piano
Piano Sonatas, Volume 7
Vinyl reissue originally released 1988 - A superb West Coast jazz album. ????
Bass – Curtis Counce
Drums – Frank Butler
Mastered By – Joe Tarantino
Piano – Carl Perkins (4)
Producer – Lester Koenig
Tenor Saxophone – Harold Land
Trumpet – Jack Sheldon
Buddy Guy - Born To Play Guitar.
Spent the afternoon listening to "head" multilayered music, so it's time to get back to basics.
Buddy rips it up on his Stratocaster on this album, recorded when he was already 79 years old.
Last man standing of the Chicago club blues greats, how does he keep managing to turn out such great music?
Oh, I know .................. sheer talent.
Hector Zazou, Songs from the Cold Seas, one of my all time favourite albums but unfortunately not available on any streaming services, bought this cd years ago and listening to it today for the first time in ages as I’ve just got my ripping sorted. Born in Algeria of French and Spanish parents, this album is a mix of eclectic soundscapes featuring Bjork, Suzanne Vega, Jane Sibbery, John Cale and few others, stunning album if you can get your hands on it.
Managed a fair bit of vinyl listening today. Steve Earle - Copperhead Road. A rollicking good listen.
Paul McCartney - Flowers in the Dirt, playing the second disc from the deluxe set which is essentially the McCartney / McManus acoustic demos of the songs they wrote together for the project .

How do you rate it compared to, say, Sahara Blue? I've not heard this one.
Now Playing...................
Van Morrison - Live In The Grand Opera House Belfast
Streaming on NAS.......... A recent purchase and taking out this 1984 album for its first spin!
This is a wonderful album. A new release is long overdue.
Paul Rodgers - Free Spirit.
Signing off for the evening, as I'm off to the music room to crank up the Les Paul / Mesa Boogie, and attempt to play some of the Free
classics on this album.
I grew up with these songs, and, as mentioned on another thread, as a happy amateur guitarist of many years standing, I have no
difficulty "hearing" the music in my head ................ the problem seems to be that my fingers refuse to keep up!

I have loved the Bjork track for many years, I have it recorded from Late Junction on Radio 3 years ago, but haven’t heard the rest of the album. I tried to find a copy some years back but failed.
Van Morrison - Keep it Simple. joining in with the lovefest for Van with this offering from '08
