Hector Zazou, Songs from the Cold Seas, one of my all time favourite albums but unfortunately not available on any streaming services, bought this cd years ago and listening to it today for the first time in ages as I’ve just got my ripping sorted. Born in Algeria of French and Spanish parents, this album is a mix of eclectic soundscapes featuring Bjork, Suzanne Vega, Jane Sibbery, John Cale and few others, stunning album if you can get your hands on it.
I have loved the Bjork track for many years, I have it recorded from Late Junction on Radio 3 years ago, but haven’t heard the rest of the album. I tried to find a copy some years back but failed.
There are a few second hand available on the river at the moment (but not the vVG condition one I’ve just nabbed).
Now playing......
Boz Scaggs - Come on Home
Streaming on TIDAL....... continuing on with more from Boz, he is sounding mighty sweet with some blues!

Graham Parker - Burning Questions, on vinyl from 1992. Another LP I've not listened to in some time. Pete Thomas from the Attractions on drums, Mick Talbot from the Style Council on keyboards, Andrew Bodnar from the Rumour on bass, Eddie Manion on saxophone and P.P Arnold on backing vocals. Good to hear this after so long.
He’s got new album out in September. ????
I'll be watching out for that ................ worked in London is the early 80's and saw Graham + The Rumour lots of times on the local pub circuit ................ smashing band then, and he is still turning out some great music.
He’s touring, must get my act together to order the tickets for Holmfirth in October.

I saw him with Brinsley Schwarz two years ago at the Epstein Theatre Liverpool. Great night.????
Midnight Skyracer - Fire - WAV CD rip
Fantastic young U.K. bluegrass band I saw at Cropredy last week. Very high energy playing, all superb musicians, 3 good voices which harmonise wonderfully.
Having enjoyed Pilgrimage earlier I thought I listen to Ash's best album next.
Eric Clapton - Reptile, in HDCD.
Stevie Ray Vaughan/ David Bowie, Space Oddity - WAV CD rip
Off the desk boot from rehearsals for the Serious Moonlight tour, before SRV left the tour. Pretty recessed SQ, needs a bit of rotation of the volume knob, but nice if slightly laidback performances.
Started this evening in a nice lyrical manner, soft trumpet tones, Nordic sound..., from Bandcamp...
Another album, same artist..
And yet another one from the same artist, give it a try Bandcamp...
A recent album from Lundgren, sounding great on my ND555
Also with classical orchestral the ND555 gives the combo of refinement, dynamics, detail and authority...., great on 1st listen of this album...
Eric Clapton - Rush, the original score composed and performed by EC.This is quite atmospheric in a similar vein to Edge of Darkness.
Vinyl released 1974 - A fine album from EC. ????
Graham Parker - Burning Questions, Original UK vinyl
Chunky’s earlier listen tempted me, one of the great pub rockers on fine form, some classic GP songs, love the way he sings them.
Great album to end with for the day...
A bit of Bryan before bed.
Roxy Music - Flesh & Blood
Sergey Rachmaninov (1873-1943): Boris Giltburg, piano | Carlos Miguel Prieto | Royal Scottish National Orchestra
Piano Concerto No. 3, Op. 30 (1909) | Variations on a Theme of Corelli, Op. 42 (1931)
Still IMHO his best album
David Bowie, Hunky Dory, 2016 remaster vinyl
One of Bowie’s masterpieces, some of his greatest songs, with great variation of style, Bowie and Ronson gelling wonderfully.
Ella and Basie!
Christine Collister Live - one of the finest and strongest female voices I've heard. Her version of Last Chance Texaco leaves the listener in no doubt what that song is about!
Now Playing........
Donald Fagen -Sunken Condos
Streaming on TIDAL.......... It has been awhile since playing something from Donald and a Monday afternoon is as good a time as any........ and he is sounding mighty fine with a wonderful beat, got some toe tapping going on!
