On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
The Duke and crew in relaxed party mood, jamming joyfully on a splendid sounding CD...
1995 - UK first pressing...
Runrig
Once In A Lifetime - CD Rip
My faverate Runrig Album.
Edward
Double CD compilation with a terrible cover but a great tracklist (and OK mastering):
Small Faces - Ultimate Collection.
I seem to be having something of a nostalgia fest this afternoon, so fifty Small Faces tracks spread across 2 CD's is just fine.
Stolen from a BBC review of the band:
"Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones were pop's Bash Street Kids" ...................... and there's little doubt that
Steve Marriott had one of the outstanding voices of his time.
Really, it's all too beautiful.
David Kollar and Arve Henriksen, new release - good listening
Robert Palmer - Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley.
Still drowning in nostalgia with another of the great voices from the past, ................. and with not a little help from Little Feat,
Allen Toussaint and The Meters.
Have been looking at that Henriksen release Adrian. I think you mifght have persuaded me to press 'go'.

A couple of new albums from him on Rune Grammofon too in a few weeks - limited white vinyl from their website....
Vinyl released 1977 - A very fine debut album.
Fancied a bit of the Dan. This time on a recently acquired Japanese SHM CD:
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath.
More nostalgia with Sabbath's first album, which turned out to be something of a landmark.
Bit of a leap from Robert Palmer / Little Feat ^^^^ , but hey ho.
1977 - Double vinyl compilation -1966/76 - US pressing...
Now Playing........
10,000 Maniacs - mtg unplugged
Streaming on NAS - a little jump into the way back machine...... having listened to a few of Natalie's albums recently I reached back to 1993 to play this old album I picked up years ago, she does have one sweet voice!
Another Dan SHM-CD from those clever Japanese:
A bit of blues for the afternoon.
A nice Charity shop buy for 20 p - Fabulous recording - Playing on Vinyl which is 180 g.It was pressed in 1968 so 50 years old now.
Buddy Guy - the Blues is Alive and Well (2018). Buddy does the blues very well. "Reefer makes me mellow, whiskey makes me wild", love some of his lyrics.
1972 - vinyl - UK first pressing....
Aretha Franklin - Aretha Now.
Her music will live on forever ................. the first track, "Think" always immediately conjures up The Blues Brothers cafe scene.
Can't be just me, surely?
And a third (SD SHMCD, that is). This is my fave album of theirs.
(1995)
Natalie Merchant - Tigerlily
I've recently been plugging some holes in my Natalie Merchant collection, this evening I'm kicking off with her fine solo debut without her 10,000 maniacs, natch.
1969 - vinyl - UK first (st) pressing...
CD. Beethoven Piano Sonatas - Jean-Efflam Bavouzet ( Vol 2 CD 1, Sonatas Op. 22, 26 "Grande", 27-1 "quasi una Fantasia", 27-2 "Moonlight")
