The Cult - Love (Omnibus Edition).
Hi Tabby, if you don't already have this one, it's well worth looking out for.
4 CD Boxset.
DISC 1 - LOVE:
Re-mastered from the original studio analogue tapes.
DISC 2 - SINGLES:
Featuring all the tracks from the album's three 12" singles which included extended versions of album cuts, remixes and non-album `B' sides. This is the first time all these tracks have been presented together outside of the limited, Rare Cult box set released in 2000.
DISC 3 - DEMOS:
Ten tracks were recorded in early 1985 as demos to play to potential producers. Mostly performed live in the studio, these raw versions are an insight into the genesis of the album and have never been released before. Additionally there is a bonus of a rough monitor mix from Olympic Studios of `She Sells Sanctuary' before new vocals and a remix were completed at another studio.
DISC 4 - 1985 LIVE:
Recorded on the Love UK tour by the BBC on 31 October at Hammersmith Odeon, London, this thirteen song set featured songs from the newly released Love album alongside established favourites from their debut release Dreamtime and earlier Death Cult days.
It's a belter! .................... as they say around these parts.
Dire Straits - Live at the BBC, a nice partner to the debut album.
Vinyl LP
Joe Jackson - Look Sharp! Brilliant
Playing on Compact Disc -Haven't played for this for years and forgot just what a great album it is ....one of her classics
George Harrison - Somewhere in England.
(1976)
Boz Scaggs - Silk Degrees
I've been enjoying his latest release these past few weeks and thought I'd have a listen to one of his classic early albums.

Likewise, it sums up all that was best in the '80's for me.
Have a great weekend yourself.
Dire Straits - On every street
Most reviewers don't think much of this album, but I find it very enjoyable.
Interesting album earlier this afternoon
Also mobile sounding great....
Then moved to Dizzy...
Finally moving to the hypnotizing Gazpacho...
(1976)
Bryan Ferry - Let's Stick Together
Because any early Ferry always reminds me of a couple of hot summer nights in the sarf de France (around 1980/81?) when I had a lot of leave due and took an apartment in Baie de Anges for a couple of months with the girlfriend. We went along to the outdoor Ferry/Roxy night gigs which were great. His chic style fitted France and the backdrop so well... the music and atmosphere was just wonderful.
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Second Helping, 1984 UK vinyl reissue
“Pronounced” was one of the great debut albums, this was a pretty stunning follow up. Starting with Sweet Home Alabama, ranging from tender ballads to all out rockers, the triple guitar line was on storming form and it’s great Southern Rawk. Brilliant cover of Call Me The Breeze. I hope Neil Young will remember....
Playing in memory of Ed King, who was the Strat player on here, RIP Ed.
