My favourite album from the great Irish singer Mary Black, folk and pop/rock songs with a superb set of musicians, my 3rd album of the night with Declan Sinnott on guitar, Mary’s able to make any song sound great. Her rendition here of Bright Blue Rose with Sinnott on guitar is emotionally stunning.

Hi Ewemon
Saw her live a little while ago, so I've been waiting for this new release. How do you think it compares to her last LP?

Not allowed to comment Nigel.
I'm envious that you can enjoy this early, ewemon, but have consoled myself by placed my pre-order ready for the release on 7th Sept.
I'm right along side you MDS with my pre-order for this album......

Saw him live Saturday night. Traveler next. Wife loved it. A little too much volume for me. Monster Hit--Broken Halos.

Streaming on TIDAL....... going with the mention from EWEMON and ERICH and tacking Danielle out for a spin. The first two tracks are quite lovely, enjoying her music and look forward to the rest of the album.

I enjoy Chris's music and first ran across him on the NPR Tiny Desk singing three songs a couple with his wife Morgan. Worth a listen if you have not seen it....... https://www.npr.org/2015/11/05...on-tiny-desk-concert

John Lennon. Plastic Ono Band (1970). On remastered CD from 2000. I'm still on a honeymoon with my new HP amp. This is a well-done remaster of one of rock music's most engrossing and visceral albums.

STP. Core. On original CD from 1992. A handful of bands come immediately to mind for me as having produced exceptional debut albums. This is one of them.

Apart (thankfully) from “No Time for Love” most of the social commentary on this is so sadly pertinent today, nuclear threat, housing policy, power of church and history..... oh and some of the best rock/trad fusion committed to disc.
From 1981.

Great album. The writer of "Hiroshima Nagasaki Russian Roulette," Jim Page, is a familiar sight around Seattle, still busking on the streets.

Continuing with Jean-Michel Jarre this morning, and what better way to start the day than this classic album.

Something to get things going on a chilly wet Bank Holiday Monday. I bought this vinyl LP back in 1980, during the school holidays.
