I've not heard that one. The only one of his that I have is Point of Departure, which I find really interesting. What's this one like?
Now playing..........
Ketil Bjornstad - The Sea II
Ketil Bjørnstad (piano), David Darling (cello), Terje Rypdal (guitars) and Jon Christensen (drums).
Streaming on TIDAL......... Following up with Ketil's 'The Sea' which I played last evening and enjoyed quite a bit, taking out this album for my first spin!
Tine Thing Helseth - Trumpet concertos Haydn, Albinoni, Neruda and Hummel
Very well performed trumpet concertos by Tine Thing Helseth.

It's still based on hard bop, but you can hear that new harmonics and rhytms are used. I think you'll like this one. Regards, Jeroen.
Playing on Vinyl on Linn Records - Fabulous album by the late JB Lenoir
On CD:-
Steve Hillage - Open

Thanks, Jeroen. I'll hunt it out.
Andrew Hill - Mosaic select
Decided to listen to some more Andrew Hill. This CD-Box contains mostly previously unreleased material that Andrew Hill recorded for Blue Note between 1967 and 1970.
Although OutKast sampled it back in the last century, the album’s undoubted highlight, To the Establishment, has been known only to the cognoscenti. It explores family politics over 12 unhurried minutes of expansive soul. It is one of the best songs you’ve never heard.
Bobby Hutcherson - Dialogue. From 1965, original LP-rip.
Andrew Hill (3) & Joe Chamber's (2) compositions.
- Bobby Hutcherson – vibraphone (all), marimba (3,4,6).
- Sam Rivers – tenor saxophone (1,6) soprano saxophone (5), bass clarinet (4), flute (2,3)
- Freddie Hubbard – trumpet
- Andrew Hill – piano
- Richard Davis – double bass
- Joe Chambers – drums
(1977 | 1984)
ABBA - The Album
A classic album ripped from the Polar Label, way better SQ than the later ones that were dished out. Having problems with Imgur so I can't post the iPad screen images at the moment.
Out to Lunch from 1964 - 96/24 flac in fine sound!
"High Resolution Mastering by Alan Yoshida and Robin Lynn at Blanche DuBois, April 2012"
- Eric Dolphy – bass clarinet (1 & 2), flute (3), alto saxophone (4 & 5)
- Freddie Hubbard – trumpet
- Bobby Hutcherson – vibraphone
- Richard Davis – bass
- Tony Williams – drums
Having enjoyed Siren yesterday evening I thought I go for another Roxy album this evening. This is probably my favourite Roxy album. Stylish, daring and a great cover.
Actually listened and watched this fantastic album from Spock’s Beard
Saintseneca, 'Pillar Of Na'
Dire Straits - Alchemy ,Dire Straits Live, this release from '84 captures the band on the Love Over Gold tour where the band onstage has grown to seven and even their epic songs are expanded.
Bob Marley & the Wailers - Kaya 40th Anniversary edition on vinyl Record one is the original mix record two the one I'm playing now is a remaster by Bob's son Stephen Marley. The remaster isn't a straight forward remaster job for instance on the title track Kaya Stephen has added some dub effects and some echo on the vocal track all in all an excellent job.
LP - © 2004 Fat Possum Records : )

Couldn’t sleep due to severe back and hip pain, so I’ve taken a few painkillers and spinning this fine album. Hoping for some relief. ????
The relief did not last long I spent the day retching and felt severely under the weather. Sunday was no better the retching had stopped but felt very shakey all day I thought I must have caught a bug. Monday I felt not to bad until I got up out of the chair and hit the floor double up with stomach pain. An ambulance was called by my locum Doctor after a call from my wife to take me straight to hospital. I ended up having an operation within a couple of hours having come down with Appendicitis. Still in hospital they reckon about 5 days. Hopefully back to the music soon. ????
