The Long Run
Imgur playing up again tonight, this one is a 24/96 WAV released a few years ago. Not everyone's favourite Eagles album but one that I've always enjoyed.
Always enjoyed this myself Steve. It was actually one of the most returned to record shops pieces of vinyl when released. Pressings were absolutely shocking however sq was pretty good.
That's interesting about the bad pressing Ewen, I've got a 2005 Asylum label SHM-CD of this and the SQ is truly excellent with a lovely dynamic range nudging 16 it's my preferred version offering more than the recent hi-res release.
Marvellous.
Had to order cd from USA to get a ‘hard’ copy!
First run, so far good..
Rudolf Buchbinder - Bach
Good performance of the partitas and English suite.
The Florestan trio - Debussy, Faure & Ravel piano trios
One of the three best PF solo efforts IMO.
2018 master on CD, from the Unattended Luggage set, acquired yesterday.
An old master ...
And when being into masters...., Ben is a great example of a master...
Equally marvellous
Minnie comp on CD. Some awesome stuff here:
Just finished
Gary Brooker - Lead Me to the Water.
Pete Townsend - Scooped, a double disc compilation drawn from the three Scoop albums that featured Townsend's demos of Who and solo material. The thing is although some are just sketches many of Townsend's demos are fully formed performances and highlight his massive talent.Brilliant.
Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness First Finale. Classic
Now Playing.........
Tord Gustavsen - The Other Side
Tord Gustavsen (piano), Sigurd Hole (double bass) and Jarle Vespestad (drums).
Streaming on TIDAL....... Starting the day with Tord and taking this new release out for a second spin, 'The Other Side' is sounding mighty sweet this morning.
Oscar Pettiford - Vienna blues
Good jazz by Oscar Pettiford and his quartet. Recorded in 1959.
- Bass, Cello – Oscar Pettiford
- Drums – Jimmy Pratt
- Guitar, Bass – Attila Zoller
- Tenor Saxophone – Hans Koller
The Essential Alan Parsons Project. Just listening to the track 'Time' from this album, a track which was played at my cousin's funeral.
Now Playing.........
Trygve Seim - Helsinki Songs
Trygve Seim (tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone), Kristjan Randalu (piano), Mats Eilertsen (double bass) and Markku Ounaskari (drums).
Streaming on TIDAL........ Another new release from ECM yesterday and a mention from BERT SCHURINK above prompted me to take 'Helsinki Songs' out for a spin. First track was very nice and looking forward to the rest of the album!
The first album of the pair. Members of the band went on to play with Iron Butterfly and Three Dog Night.
2 CD set, includes US stereo release and UK mono release. Listening to the mono CD.
I have quite broad tastes in jazz, but I still find Ornette to be rather challenging. I have a few of his albums, which are rarely played, but thought I'd give this definitive disc another spin. The opening track, Lonely Woman, is truly inspirational.
Just finished this. Elton John - Captain Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy. One of the first albums I ever bought. This might be my favourite EJ album, but it's a close call with Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
Now moved on to Rickie Lee Jones - The Magazine. Sounding very good on vinyl.
