On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
On the short list for which of his many fine albums is the best:
David Bowie. Changesbowie. On CD from 1990. A great compilation for me as it has VG SQ and captures the most interesting songs of Bowie's career AFAIC.
This morning during workout, good progressive rock...
Nice music for a quiet breakfast..
Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos Records - Some uplifting Vivaldi and Bach to banish the Monday Morning office blues...seems to be working
Playing on Cassette on TDK D C60 - really relaxing Mozart Clarinet @ Oboe
Playing on Compact Disc - Live Acoustic Greatful Dead from 1980 - Brilliant Live acoustic versions of Dead favourites - Musicianship and recording are top draw
This is an excellent Soundtrack album by Antonio Sanchez for the 2018 HBO TV remake of Get Shorty staring the brilliant Chris O'Dowd & Ray Romano. There is some excellent atmospheric drumming which captures the mood and fits this remake. Antonio takes it in a somewhat less in-your-face direction than the original film, but it is still an outstanding sequence of noir moods and I recommend it highly.
Ferenc Fricsay & Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra - Dvorak Symphony 9
Exploring the symphonies of Dvorak.
On CD:-
Steely Dan - Can't Buy A Thrill
Playing on Compact Disc - Fabulous collabaration between Clapton and his best mate the late JJ Cale - An absolute peach of an album "Hard to thrill " is my stand out track
Cream - Goodbye.
Nostalgia time, as I try to rekindle the memories of being at Cream's farewell concert at the Albert Hall, way back in 1968.
Yes, 50 years ago!!!

Streaming on NAS......... a recent pick up at Fat Cat Records and taking it out for its first spin, lovely opening track with all four musicians sitting there right out in front, clear and distinct in their own space on the stage. A great opening number 'A Nice Idea' to start the day!
Playing on Vinyl - Epic Gothic Rock from The Sisters of Mercy from 1987
Bentley Caldwell - The Place That I Call Home.
Playing this in celebration of the fact that Bentley has just topped the polls in three NIMA, (Nashville Industry Music Awards), in the
following categories :
BEST R&B/SOUL ARTIST MALE,
BEST LIVE R&B/SOUL PERFORMER,
BEST URBAN ALBUM
Fans were invited to vote for him a few weeks ago, and it seems that sufficient numbers of us did so, resulting in his winning all three
categories .............. result, and just reward for a most excellent album, which has become a firm forum favourite.
The Paper Kites - "States" (2013) a Spotify "if-you-like Bear's Den-then-try" recommendation, my first listen to this Australian group.

Another Green World
This one caught my eye while flicking through the library (beautifully presented as ever by Audirvana Plus), Brian Eno's very fine album which continues to age very well.
