On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Released 2005 - Eitzels electronica album, and very good too. ????
John Vanderslice - "Romanian Names" (2009) singer, songwriter, producer, indie-pop-rock artist - but then you already knew that. Or should have.

Bentley Caldwell - The Place That I Call Home.
Playing this in celebration of the fact that Bentley has just topped the polls in three NIMA, (Nashville Industry Music Awards), in the
following categories :
BEST R&B/SOUL ARTIST MALE,
BEST LIVE R&B/SOUL PERFORMER,
BEST URBAN ALBUM
Fans were invited to vote for him a few weeks ago, and it seems that sufficient numbers of us did so, resulting in his winning all three
categories .............. result, and just reward for a most excellent album, which has become a firm forum favourite.
Just knew Bentley would go far the minute I heard this wonderful album.

Wow I thought it was only me who likes Vanderslice. Great choice ????
(2012)
Calexico - Algiers
This limited edition double album came today, the second CD 'Spiritoso' features tracks from Algiers being played by the band with the Berlin and Vienna Symphonic orchestras.
Today in the car, great rock album...
Very dissapointing soundquality...
A bit better than the other one, but also not an example of sound quality...
Nice accessible modern jazz...
Death Cab For Cutie - "Thank You For Today" (2018) 2nd listen to this new release from DC4C
T e d d y Thompson - 7243-8-49718-2-3
At least, I think that is what this album is called.
Polished, slightly downbeat middle-of-the-road-o-rama.
Playing on Vinyl on Jamaican Recordings - Nice Lee Perry Dub compilation album -My Technics Sl1210 is digging deep into those basslines and the Focal's are shifting some air
Vinyl released 2011 - Prompted by Mr Anderson and it’s a fine album. ????
Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong
Ella and Louis is an inspired collaboration, masterminded by producer Norman Granz. Both artists were riding high at this stage in their careers, and Granz assembled a stellar quartet of Oscar Peterson(piano), Buddy Rich (drums), Herb Ellis (guitar) and Ray Brown (bass). Equally inspired was the choice of material, with the gruffness of Armstrong's voice blending like magic with Fitzgerald's stunningly silky delivery. Outstanding are Irving Berlin's "Cheek to Cheek" and "Isn't This a Lovely Day," and everything else works like a dream, with the golden star going to the Gershwin brothers' "They Can't Take That Away from Me." Gentle and sincere, this is deserving of a place in every home.

The aforementioned Spiritoso by Calexico, it's my first full fat listen to this live album and it is really is something very fine, a must for any Calexico fans.
Shelby Lynne - I am Shelby Lynne
Amongst my most heartfelt of albums. Great stuff.
Another fine album by The Alabama Lovesnakes.
