What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
The Bad plus - These are the vistas
I was reading an article on jazztimes.com about the ten all-time great piano trio albums. Such a list is highly debatable of course. But, I find it always fun to browse thru those lists. It mentioned this album by the bad plus. I’m familiar with the bad plus, but not with this album. So I’m checking it out. It sounds very nice.

I don’t have the vocabulary to express it, but this version in enticing me more than the one I played earlier.

A random pick from the shelves. Haven't heard this in a long, long, long time. Double vinyl.
Janis Ian - Between The Lines
24/96 Flac
Ryley Walker - Golden Sings That Have been Sung
I prefer Primrose Green for its more Nick Drake/ John Martyn feel, but maybe I'm not being fair to this one because it's not like I've flogged it to death.

Give us a clue please, Bert.
Whatever it is, that's a pretty surreal album cover image.
The album is called Home Songs but this bloke:

The Reverend Gary Davis - At Newport.
A great shout from Dan Steel, and endorsed by NigelB, this just plopped through the letterbox, now ripped and streaming on my
"only just listenable" NDS.
A quite brilliant album which displays the Reverend's impeccable finger picking guitar style, and powerful vocals.
Still waiting for my copy, you must have jumped the queue at the River. Anyway, definitely worth waiting for. As you say, this is a bit special.
Another shout out to Dan Steel who recommended this one a couple of days ago.
That'll be us posh Prime Members getting our money's worth!
Anyhow, this also dropped through the door his morning, and at less than seven squid, why not?
Reverend Gary Davis - Three Classic Albums Plus.
It's a two CD set which comprises three of his albums, plus an add on of side two from a fourth one, all sympathetically remastered
by the good folks at Avid Roots .............. bargain!
Illinois Jacquet - Swing's the thing.
Good swing jazz from Illinois Jacquet and his sextet.

Ray LaMontagne - "Supernova" (2014) This has ultimately become a very enjoyable album for me. Pleased I persevered.
I've tried to like that album but it's still not doing it for like his earlier albums have.
The differences between it and the first two albums are significant. I expect he may have both lost, and gained, fans as his career choices have evolved. It is one of the (beautiful) mysteries of music and our individual relationships with any given artists and albums. Enjoy the music that speaks directly to you. I know there is plenty of that. regards, Jeff A

The Doobie Brothers - What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits
Because I just fancied some Doobies funky soul stuff and I don't often get this particular one off the shelf.
Vinyl reissue originally released 1957 - Pianist Red Garland's solo on the 15-minute opener "Soul Junction" is superb. Garland gets to stretch out on the title cut. Coltrane is also on excellent form, playing several stunning solos, superbly backed by a great set of musicians...Great album ????
Bass – George Joyner
Drums – Arthur Taylor
Piano – Red Garland
Tenor Saxophone – John Coltrane
Trumpet – Donald Byrd
