What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Erol Josue - Regleman.
If you're into West African "high life" sounds, or just African beats in general, then this slice of Haitian vodou trance might just
be your thing.
Sadly, I can't find it on Tidal, though it may well be available on other streaming services.
An oldie but goodie, Secrets of the Beehive, David Sylvian. The opening track’s a favourite and seemed appropriate! WAV rip.
Viktoria Mullova and Guiliano Carmignola, Vivaldi Concertos for 2 violins, WAV CD rip.
Fancied some Baroque, and this is a lovely CD of Vivaldi, beautiful tunes, superbly interpreted by two excellent violinists.
Keeping things atmospheric with Jon Hopkins Asleep Versions, brilliantly produced and recorded in Reykjavik, it has an Icelandic feel and not a million miles from Hector Zazous Songs from the cold seas. Well worth a listen if you like soundscapes. Streaming on Tidal
Vinyl 2006 - Smithereens frontman sings classic toons in a smooth style, great stuff. ????
1989 - Vinyl - UK first pressing...
Now playing.........
Don Henley - Cass County
Streaming on TIDAL........ Don is sounding mighty fine! ...........and with guest appearance from Mick Jagger, Miranda Lambert, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton and Martina McBride and an excellent band this is an album not to be missed.
Camel - Nude
This is sounding great tonight. CD Rip
Kenny Rogers - The Gambler
Just talking to the 'bread knife' about going to Las Vegas next year made me think of this. No idea why.
+1
Cowboy Junkies - All That Reckoning (2018). Been a few weeks since the last play. Still my No. 1 pick for best 2018 album.
Richard Thompson - Acoustic Classics
Love this mans voice, great storytelling and guitar playing. The man has it all.
Now Playing.........
Trio Beyond - Saudades
Jack DeJohnette (drums), John Scofield (guitar) and Larry Goldings (Hammond organ, electric piano, sampler).
Streaming on NAS............. A recent pick up from Fat Cat Records, a nice 2 CD release from 2006 of this fine trio, Jack, John and Larry are sounding mighty sweet! A nice way to get a late Monday afternoon rolling along........
Otis Taylor - White African (2001). He was mentioned earlier in this thread. Trance blues was the identifier, sounds great if you like the blues. The album mentioned earlier was Hey Joe Opus Red Meat (2015), it's quite good too, yes, he does a cover of Hey Joe, and he's pulls it off IMHO.
Ernie just riffing his tail off on "That Lady"....such a good guitar song
On Vinyl. Can't go wrong with Ella for some evening magic.
The Beatles. With The Beatles (1963). The original CD release from 1987. If it's possible there is such thing as an underappreciated Beatles album this is it.
John Fogerty. Revival. On CD from 2007. Excellent music. This and 'Centerfield' are Fogerty's best solo albums.
Wonderful music and very cheap s/h on AZ.
Starts more rocky than usual with Morse, nice album...
Ali Farka Toure & Toumani Diabate - Ali and Toumani.
A nice gentle start to to the day, whilst the weather decides whether it's going to cheer up, or chuck it down.
A truly spellbinding collaboration between two world class musicians, and I can't recommend this one highly enough.
Guess what? It's there on Tidal, so, go on, treat your aural receptors to something a bit special.
