On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Now Playing...........
Alison Krauss - Forget About It
Streaming on NAS............ dropping back 19+ years to this album 'Forget About It' from Alison with her angelic voice and joined by some fine musicians and backup singers. Sam Bush on mandolin stands out on a few tracks and if you like Alison then this album is worth the time to give a listen!

Thanks for the alert ewe. The most intriguing new compilation I've seen in a long while.
This year has seen McCartney indulging in nostalgia, revisiting Abbey Road and The Cavern, and popping up in his old Liverpool haunts on the Carpool Karaoke charabanc. On ‘Egypt Station’, a title that itself rings with the breezy Edward Lear nonsense beloved of The Beatles, McCartney does the same, musically, taking us on a tour de force of his own career.
Paul McCartney. Press To Play. On CD from 1986. Every few years I give this a play to gain perspective on how good Macca's other albums are in comparison and simply to remind me that this is by far Macca's worst album. Tough to find a single redeeming quality. I should toss it, but back on my shelf it will go.
Sheryl Crow. Tuesday Night Music Club. On CD from 1993. Crow's debut and I think still her best album. When discussions arise about best-ever debut albums this one certainly deserves some chatter.
These are songs that take me to that chill place I need to go to when the world gets too crazy …
- Kandace Springs
Giving this a try via Tidal. Besides his famous albums, not an absolute fan, so let’s see if this can impress me...
Mark Knopfler - The Ragpicker's Dream
I had a need for Knopfler, before a shift.
From Down to The Waterline onwards, I've always loved his story telling, the images he conjures.
Released 2011 - Omaha alt country/ Americana duos debut album. Singing rambling hard-luck tales to foot-stomping bar ballads to delicate love songs, the songwriting recalls the moodiness of Nick Cave and humor of Townes Van Zandt, never getting too heavy. Fine album. ????
Nice album of a giant...
Follow up to stay in style

I am not concerned with your problems - no, really, I am not.
these make me question are they really good & highly recommended, or what's the story ?? have they already listened to them or are they planning to do so in the future
None of that matters, you are free to do your own research.
per the thread title ...... WHY MIGHT ANYONE BE INTERESTED?
The original thread title for a number of years was "What Are You Listening To ?" A non-contributing moderator decided that wasn't satisfactory. The original thread was never intended (in my opinion) as a "recommendation", it was just what it said. Most contributors in my experience are willing to answer questions, if asked. Often it is just useful as a reminder to revisit something.

In my opinion, a perfect example of how the thread can work.

I know when I first started buying albums when I was just browsing in a music store I would end up buying an album if the cover grabbed my attention. In the store it was easy to flip over to the back to pick up the artist's/group's name, not so easy on a forum thread.
I agree completely and there is always the internet for further information or inquiring directly (ie: showing interest) with the person posting.

In a way I agree. I think sometimes the fact that a certain album is popping up under a certain forum member is for me already a signal to give it a try. So long texts are not needed, while at the same time very much appreciated when people take the effort.
For me it doesn’t mean that I recommend an album when listening. I just hope with the publishing that others get inspired. Sometimes I have time and energy to write more about it, and I do then. But I am primarily listening music and not writing forum posts....
And sure if I like a new album, I will definitely mention that.

Well phrased.

@Seakayaker
Seeing your posts I dug this LP out. I remember hearing the title track I think mid 90's on a pair of SBLs & NAP135s !
It was a "wow" moment
A good listen all these years later
There are some very good new versions on this album.

Indigo is interesting and yes, a little less accessible than Soul Eyes. But for me that is not a bad thing. Sometimes albums need to grow on me, but I have heard enough and enjoy Kandace's vocals so much that I did not hesitate to order the CD.
Talented young lady and so cool.
Indigo wasn't what I was expecting. I thought it might be Soul Eyes part 2. But there's nothing wrong in branching out and trying new styles. Her voice is so distinctive that quality signs through and, like you, Nigel, I suspect Indigo will grow on me.
The virtual son of Miles Davis. Sounds pretty good for a bootleg recording. Great to have this access through the LiveJazzLounge.com , however recently they haven’t published a lot...
I thought I’d see what all the fuss was about. Perhaps a bit too smooth for my tastes, but very nice, and I can see why others are so enthusiastic. It may grow on me of course.
This is one of my favorite Zeppelin songs, or perhaps I should say my most favorite song....., while competing with Stairway to Heaven. It’s great that the completed the remasters in high resolution. As this live version of the songs now sounds very very nice
