What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
The In Tune Mixtape on R3
Eclectic. (But I'm mindful of what Naim forum future historians will come to call 'Eoink's caveat').
The Barr Brothers - Sleeping Operator. This has been mentioned (and described) recently by a few other forum members. It's simply excellent (as are their other albums).
Just before listened to this album. I think this is his weakest album so far, while still nice to listen to. A good month ago I saw him live, and that was a great experience...

Ry Cooder - Chicken Skin Music.
I’m off to bed after the current album, I’ll pull that out for tomorrow, it’s been many years.
Listening to this now in early ‘'80s European vinyl. , Thanks Alan, it’s been far too long since I listened to this, Hawaian Tex-Mex country folk blues, brilliantly played by Cooder and his colleagues, wide ranging music from a Gospel setting of Stand By Me, to a heartfelt Bourgeois Blues, and ending with maybe my favourite version of Goodnight Irene.

Flippin heck, Chunky, plain weird. I am listening to this as I saw your post. I have being trying to post via Imgur but it is not playing ball.
Anyway, you have saved me the job. Yes, simply excellent!
Giving this a first serious try. At least the sound quality is better Han usual with Yes albums, let’s see if the oldies can still entertain me...
Paul Weller
True Meanings (Deluxe Edition) - CD Rip

The Fabs - Beatles For Sale, one of their best sounding albums.
Bon Iver - 22, A Million. Bon Iver tend to be referred to as indie folk, but this CD is quite a departure, with lots of electronics, samples and other effects. Not for everybody, but I quite like it.
Vinyl released 1968 - BS last album and a fine one it is. ????
Freshly ripped CD to compare with the vinyl version
I enjoyed disc 1 of this set the other day so decided to listen to disc 2 this evening. The first disc has MJ's early and well-known songs. Some of the material on this one is bit pretentious but Stranger In Moscow is lovely.

While earlier live albums emitted more energy, it’s still a treat to hear the guys playing, and voice still super amazing...
It Bites - The Old Man and the Angel, prompted by yesterday's discussion of It Bites thought I would dig out this 4 track single from '87.Bought it because it includes "Calling All the Heroes".
Smoooooth
Now listening to this album which was released last year. Andrew Combs - Canyons of My Mind. A Texan now based in Nashville with a lovely voice. Elements of folk and country and a touch of the singer-songwriter about this. I love the track "Dirty Rain".
Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger
My favourite apart from Gold.
Have I already got the best two? Or do I need to sweat it?

Now Playing.........
Paul McCartney - Egypt Station
Streaming on TIDAL........ taking Paul's new album out for a spin....... it is always nice to see & hear folks that I listened to in the 60's still releasing albums decades later! and it is nice to still be around listening......
Queen - The Works.
Led Zeppelin II on vinyl - The drum solo on moby dick; I never really listened closely before *yawn fest drum solo*, but it caught my attention tonight; You can literally hear the drum placement left to right spread out. Awesome!

As is the album. A true classic.

I've got most of his albums and all have their merits (although I'm not a fan of Rock n' Roll from 2003). He puts so much stuff out, he can be a bit inconsistent, but if you like Easy Tiger and Gold, I think you'll enjoy most of his other albums.
