Boz Scaggs - Come on Home
Streaming on NAS.......... CD in the mail box when I arrive home, ripped to NAS and now taking out for a spin. Boz is sounding mighty sweet with these blues songs!
Do you know what, I think I like this one even more than Boz's latest blues offering, 'Out Of The Blues'. As someone on here said recently, 'please don't cast me into the abyss'.
Right, goin' fishin' in the river.
Justin Currie - What Is Love For, a solo album from the Del Amitri frontman.Vastly underated in my book.

Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins - "Rabbit Fur Coat" (2005) edgy pop music
This is very good, as are Jenny's solo albums. Quality pop music.
Vinyl released 1984 - It doesn’t get any better than this one. Brilliant album ????
Keeping up the local connection
Scott Walker - Boy Child: 67-70. I bought this compilation a few years ago as I was intrigued by what I had read about Scott Walker. I was familiar with his work with the Walker Brothers, but not his solo work. On first play, I thought what on earth is this! I thought it was terrible and didn't play it again until a couple of years ago. On the second and third listens, his music suddenly clicked with me and I thought, wow this is fantastic! In fact, I liked it that much, I have since bought his first four solo albums. I saw a documentary about him and it seems people either love his music or hate it.
Freshly ripped CD sounding mighty fine

Till The Sun Turns Black
One of Ray LaMontagne's finest and one of my favourites.
Definitely agree with that, Steve. Great reproduction quality too.

Saw this posted on here about a week ago and I thought I haven't heard any Sade for many a year so I promised myself I'd get the CD. It turned up today. Gosh, it's like meeting up with friend I haven't seen for ages. How the memories come back with a little prompting.

MDS, I've bought quite a few of this age CDs lately and enjoyed every one some brilliant music back then.

Ah yes. One to play later. I remember taking my vinyl copy of Diamond Life to Martins Hi-Fi in Norwich to choose speakers. Monitor Audio R252 vs Linn Index. The 252's won the day,
Roxy Music - Avalon
A fond reminder of a few afternoons at Studio 99 in Swiss Cottage during my mis-spent youth.
Haven't visited the Pink Floyd Early Years set for a while, so time to catch up with the two CDs of freaky stuff on Cambridge St/ation volume (1965-67) which kicks off the set.
Herbie Hancock - Empyrean Isles
One of those classic albums from Blue Note.

Back when this was released a friend of mine, Jane, was sitting listening to it with me in my student bedsit in Leicester and ‘when am I going to make myself a living’ struck a chord. She was in the third year of her degree and worrying about getting a job. It’s a great album.
