What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
On to 1969, my favourite of all Floydian years - and Dramatis/ation is my favourite volume of The Early Years...
Jeroen20 posted:Woody Shaw - In my own sweet way
One of his best, imo.
- Bass – Neil Swainson
- Drums – Alex Deutsch
- Piano – Fred Henke
- Trumpet – Woody Shaw
I agree - I have the LP and love it !
I believe Woody Shaw had perfect pitch.
Now Playing........................
Lyle Mays - Fictionary
Lyle Mays (piano), Marc Johnson (bass) and Jack DeJohnette (drums).
Streaming on NAS......... a recent purchase and taking out for its inaugural spin and this fantastic trio is sounding mighty sweet!
Robbie Robertson
Now Playing.......................
Chris Potter - Traveling Mercies
Chris Potter (tenor and soprano saxophone, alto flute, bass clarinet, reed organ, clavinet, sampler, percussion, voice), John Scofield (guitar), Adam Rogers (acoustic & slide guitar), Kevin Hays (piano, Fender Rhodes, clavinet), Scott Colley (bass) and Bill Stewart (drums).
Streaming on NAS.......... a recent purchase and taking it out for its first spin. The opening track 'Megalopolis' is upbeat and fast paced with very nice interplay and support among the sextet, looking forward to the rest of the album!
Wings - At The Speed OF Sound
Misty and mellow fruitfulness....
Now it's 1970, and, in Floydland at least, Devi/ation is the thing...
Fancied some Prog and giving this Classic Yes live triple album a spin
On CD:-
Frank Sinatra - In The Wee Small Hours
Fink - Biscuits For Breakfast.
Somewhat inevitably, with the arrival of the new streamer today, it's a case of listening to old, familiar favourites to see what all the
fuss is about.
I've mentioned over on the other thread about "presence of musicians" in the room ............. the Finkster has just asked for "two
sugars in my coffee please".
Have this playing through my CD5si & NAIT5si and Motive SX2 speakers. Volume dial around 10/11 0 clock - wonderful stuff!

I was playing a Willie Nelson CD this morning and I can swear blind that I could smell wacky backy wafting out of the fireplace ?

"Postcards From Heaven" - Lighthouse Family (CD)
Good stuff, I've always enjoyed the sound of Tunde's voice whether with Lighthouse Family or solo.
It's 1972, and the Floyd are reverber/ating, according to this box...
(1995)
Lighthouse Family - Ocean Drive
Joining Alba1320 in some smooth laid back grooves.
2018 - Vinyl - Limited Edition EP...
Aphex Twin - Collapse... Out Today.
Mozart | Ives | Verdi: Schumann Quartett
Now Playing.......
Cara Dillon - Wanderer
Streaming on TIDAL....... A sweet soft voice with piano & stings on the opening track "The Tern and The Swallow" is beautiful. A wonderful album and worth the time to give a listen!
Little Dragon. Ritual Union
Smart third album from the swish swedes.

Any good ? I've found all his most recent releases a bit disappointing. Like he's just picked out an old cassette recording from under the cobwebs and shoved it to the label boss.

Sorry, it's 1971!

I think Richard managed to confuse me even more than before. I was expecting something like Syro but it's way better, less "dancy", more focused, delineated and just even more deconstructed than his previous offerings. Few albums have had this kind of effect on me. Radiohead's Kia A springs to mind.
