What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
1st run..
Neil Young and Crazy Horse largely passed me by back in the 70s although I remember some friends owned "Harvest".
Listening to Radio Paradise the other day, I heard a brilliant tune, brilliantly played and once the vocals came in, I thought "Neil Young".
I checked the app to see what was playing and it was "Cortez The Killer".
So, I'm listening to it now, enjoying it and wondering how or why I missed out Neil Young and Crazy Horse back in the day..
Paul McCartney - McCartney. Vinyl, early, or could be the first pressing I think, as it has the high gloss laminate gatefold cover. Pretty stripped back and simple compared to later output with Wings, and none the worse for that. Perfect for a Sunday morning.

They look like nice boys!
They are. Really! When not on the road, they like nothing better than sitting by the fireplace, sipping a nice cuppa and listen to a bit of Madonna or Engelbert.
Vinyl released 1970 - The Fabs final studio album, would have been a great album but for Spectors fcuked production. The naked album addressed it later. ????
Tidal...
Paul McCartney - Ram. Vinyl, first UK pressing. Following on from the first album and this sounds very good indeed on vinyl, more so than Macca 1. Again, an album I’d forgotten about over the years as at the time of discovering the post Beatles stuff I was certainly guilty of favouring Lennon’s records. This album is a gem.
Pinchas Zukerman & Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra - Bach: Brandenburg concertos
A random pick from my classical section. Original Factory Classical CD from 1990...
Tried this one, verdict is out...
Now great transparent version of Brahm...
Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St
Their finest.
I am long overdue playing some Feat in the house. One of my favourite bands
Marc Maron Podcast - Paul McCartney interview. Streamed from iPhone to UQ2 via Bluetooth.
Not music as such, but Macca talking about the latest Egypt Station album, and inevitably of course The Beatles. If you're not familiar with Marc Maron, he's an interesting US interview host who's podcast show has a wealth of long form interviews to explore. Being a stand up comedian there is a slight bias to the guest choice. But, he's also a really passionate music fan, decent guitarist and also a vinyl addict and as a result has a lot of A list musicians on the show. He has a world weariness about him which I really like. One of my go to weekly podcasts and well worth checking out.
On DVD, in 24/96 (stereo). Sounding very nice. It's from Rhino's 50th anniversary set (4 CDs, DVD and LP). This set's spine has been staring at me all morning, begging to be played.
Paul Weller - New Meanings
Finally got time to sit and actually listen to this and all I can say is wow what a beautiful collection of songs this is, his best work since Wild Wood in my opinion. I am biased when it comes to Paul Weller and have followed his career since my older brother played me In the City when I was eight years old and yes there have been highs and lows but this is a real high point. Do yourself a favour and have a listen.
Johnny Griffin - Blues for Harvey
- Bass – Mads Vinding
- Drums – Ed Thigpen
- Piano – Kenny Drew
- Tenor Saxophone – Johnny Griffin

That's good to read - Wild Wood was truly excellent so will be checking this one out.
The Jam - The Gift
Prompted by all the talk of the new Paul Weller album (which BTW is very good) I thought I would go back in time.
I remember 'bunking' off school many times with a good mate and going back to my house to watch Snap! on VHS.
Happy days!
After Low, the Dame's best IMO. Back in 2010 I bought a big STS box set and one of the things you get is a DVD with a 24/96 version of the 'original 1976 analogue mix' on it, which is what I am listening to right now, via the Oppo.
I'm a big sucker for compilation discs and I find ones by Jose Padilla are mighty fine indeed.
The Floyd drummer's soundtrack to a rather patchy Don Cammell movie, unavailable officially until a few weeks ago. From the Unattended Luggage CD box set.
Fresh trio jazz..
Early days of Stafano, interesting...
