My daughter, but she is only 9 and has no serious recordings :-)
I gently pushed her towards French Horn since there is always a place for a good French Horn player, whilst there are loads of trumpet / flute / violin players. My son and I are playing the trombone so we just need to pick one of the many trumpetists to complete a quartet if needed for Christmas.
Let your granddaughter listen to the opening of Bruckner 4.
I look for some recommendations later, but I'm at work now.
Just got off the phone with my granddaughter, who is 9 by the way, who let me know that the music director pushed her towards the French Horn. He stated he felt she was more advanced since her music teacher gave her hi marks and she had been taking piano lessons for the last year. So now going to be listening to some female French Horn players. Found one so far, Sarah Willis, so if anyone knows of any female French Horn musicians please give me a recommendation.
Now playing.......
Sara Williams, Cordelia Hoefer on Piano and Kotowa Machida on ViolinTrio
Sara Williams (french horn), Cordelia Hoefer (piano) and Kotowa Machida (violin).
Streaming on TIDAL.......... checking out female french horn musicians, so taking this album out for a spin!
Trio Solisti
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Trio in A minor, Op. 50
Sergei Rachmaninov: Trio élégiaque No. 1 in G minor | Trio élégiaque No. 2 in D minor, Op. 9

And what a super way to spend 27 minutes! I spent many hours studying this recording, working it all out (except for the bowed section). I even had a half speed copy made to work out some of the trickier parts.
Currently playing in this part of Wiltshire - Larry Carlton and Robben Ford, Live in Tokyo, before a very appreciative audience.
With the Bobbie box set imminent (24 hours!), now seems as good a time as any to play the Girl From Chickasaw County EP. On Spotify.
Went threw a phase of collecting Naxos Label Compact Discs and this is a great compilation of guitar works
Andy LaVerne - Bud's Beautiful
Andy LaVerne dedication to Bud Powell. It worked out very well.
Andy LaVerne (Piano) - Peter Washington (Bass) - Billy Hart (Drums).
Playing on Cassette on TDK AD -X C90 - Just a timeless classic - I do like the change of moods with tracks like Planet Caravan but also classics like Paranoid and Iron man

Indeed Tony and actually one of the rare UK 1st pressings I own.
In general I try to avoid remasters if I can however it’s not always possible – content first

Hi Raider,
You have probably got this any way but this is a great Psych tribute from XTC The Dukes of Statosphere - 25 O Clock ........some brilliant tracks like 25 o clock and Your Gold Dress.
Only the first three tracks were actually recorded live at Birdland, on 8 October 1963. The other two were recorded at RVG Studio, Englewood on 18 November. But so what, there's some really fine music on this album, particularly the opener, Afro Blue. Features Coltrane's usual (exceptional) quartet.

Tony hope you are well...This is my all time favourite SC album. Every time I play a Sam record I cannot help thinking what music he would have made if he had not been lost so young. Apparently he was about to go in the studio the week after he was shot to record a Blues album. Now that would have been something.
Take care Graham.
