On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
1983 - Tidal...
Daft Punk - Random Access Memories.
Sounding rather special here tonight.
Great album, sounding fantastic in high res...

Fantastic LP on vinyl and there is a really interesting segment in a film about them where they describe the lengths they went to during the recording process of this record to get the sound they wanted and it really paid off because sonically it is superb.

In my top five all time it's addictive.
I own ten copies of this including the CD's and high res files something which my other half things is very odd.
George Harrison - Best of Dark Horse 1976-1989, pulled this out to hear the four "new" tracks that were exclusive to this release at the time.
Justin Adams & Juldeh Camara - Soul Science.
More Saharan blues goodness from Justin and Juldeh, with even a hint of Bo Diddley here and there! A great album.
1992 - Tidal...
I tend to listen to Cure for Pain or Yes, their later albums with more lapidated lyrics and sound. I hardly listen to this one, their debut album which is still a bit crude. Good mix of Jazz, blues and a pinch of rock to wrap it all up.
Kevin-W posted:CD. Was the Evans/LaFaro/Motian trio the greatest ever?
Yes.
Dvořák | Brahms: Berlin Piano Trio
Antonin Dvořák: Piano Trio No. 4, Op. 90 "Dumky"
Johannes Brahms: Piano Trio No. 2, Op. 87

2010 Music On Vinyl reissue .Not been able to track down a reasonably priced original so this digital transfer will have to surfice until i do.
Such a beautful voice but also a very talented song writer responsible for writing one the greatest songs of all time IMO
A Change is Gonna Come.
I was, and still am, playing this as I saw Kevin-W's posts, above. This is the best of the best IMHO. I haven't allowed myself to play this over the last couple of weeks while my amp was away getting the DR treatment in case I adjusted my aural baseline to the NAP200 I'd been given as a stopgap loan model. The amp is back and so is Bill at the Village Vanguard on 25 June 1961. Sublime indeed.
CD on the Macbook
Why? Had a fancy to hear Blackberry Way. Turned out some of the other stuff is pretty good too.

Status Quo - On The Level, I've always been partial to the album version of "Down Down"
Pale Sun Crescent Moon, Cowboy Junkies, heard a track off this on Radio Paradise on the way home in the car and thought it sounded pretty good, from 1993 but not a Junkies album I was familiar with. Excellent production as always and sounding pretty good on Tidal.
On CD:-
Alison Krauss and Union Station - Two Highways
Jason Isbell - Sirens of the Ditch. I have all of his recent superb albums, but I am catching up on his earlier stuff now. I think this is his first solo album after leaving Drive By Truckers. A few of the Truckers play on this. Also David Hood and Spooner Oldham play on one track. It's sounding good.
Have been adding and enjoying more Cara Dillon's albums to my collection, this evening I thought I'd listen to the one that started it all for me. It's still as lovely as the first time I heard it.
I had to have another dose of Cara.
Massive Attack - Mezzanine.
Hearing many more layers of Bristolian goodness than I'd been used to on my old "broken" NDS ...................... just great!
Posted this not too long ago, but it is so good I am listening to it a lot. Low - Ones and Sixes. I discovered this band after hearing Robert Plant cover a couple of their songs on one of his recent solo albums.
