What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
My new best mates, Get The Blessing - Lope and Antilope after hearing them on Late Junction one evening last week.
The light's dropping outside but I haven't closed the curtains. Somehow enhances the music, more intense.
Enrico Pieranunzi - Tales from the unexpected.
Another good trio album with Jasper Somsen on bass.
Enrico Pieranunzi piano, Jasper Somsen bass, André Ceccarelli drums
Now playing......
Margo Herrera & Brooklyn Rider - Dreamers
Streaming on TIDAL......... A new release 21/09/2018 titled 'Dreamers,' which is a collaboration between New York-based Mexican singer Magos Herrera and the string quartet Brooklyn Rider. I had not listened to Magos or the Brooklyn Rider previously but am now through the first couple of tracks and find them to be quite enjoyable.
In recent weeks I seem to have rekindled my liking for Michael Jackson's music. Hard to stay still to.
Freddie King - Stayin' Home With The Blues.
Maybe not as celebrated as B.B. or Albert, but his body of work remains a template for so many modern blues guitarists and bands.
The 'live' recordings on this album are particularly lovely, especially Hotel California.
(1991)
Nirvana - Nevermind
Probably no need to introduce this absolute modern classic so I shan't bother, it was a game changing fabulous album.
Earlier tonight - too atmospheric for me..
Quite a nice modern album...
Stumbled across this today on cd, Herbie Hancock The Joni Letters, HH versions of well known Joni Mitchell songs accompanied by the likes of Norah Jones and Tina Turner, nice mellow chill out sounds.

Fancying some Thin Lizzy I plumped for this fine best of album entitled Dedication which is a great title track and one of my favourites.
Blimey that brings me back, literally the first record I ever bought was Whiskey in the Jar by Lizzy, it was a 45 and I bought it in Woolworths for my sister for Christmas, must have been about 12! Think I still have it somewhere after all these years.
Chris Rea - Dancing With Strangers, an excellent album from '87 when his sound was still rock/pop as opposed to the later blusier sound.
The (great) Charles Lloyd Quartet - Live in Paris, 1967. CD-rip. Released in Italy on CD in 1994- sadly never re-issued (AFAIK).
Paris - youtube
Charles Lloyd 'in the Soviet Union' is from the same tour and more easily available.
Now Playing........
Tord Gustavsen Ensemble - Restored, Returned
Tord Gustavsen (piano), Tore Brunborg (tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone), Kristin Asbjørnsen (vocals), Mats Eilertsen (double-bass) and Jarle Vespestad (drums).
Streaming on NAS......... Returning home this Monday evening I need to be restored. Tord and the Ensemble are the spoonful of tonic to help get my head back on straight......... One beautiful album!
Now Playing........
Tord Gustavsen Trio - The Ground
Tord Gustavsen (piano), Harald Johnsen (double-bass) and Jarle Vespestad (drums).
Streaming on NAS......... Tord is such a pleasure to listen to and certainly takes the edge of the day. Love his music!

This is one fantastic album! Love it......
Although the SQ on this recording isn't the greatest...
OTOH, the SQ on this is top shelf...
Sometimes faintly sounding like Stevem Wilson, easy to like...
Evocative and a little haunting in choice of music and style of play.
Kind of feels like we're among the last to abandon the hotel bar just as the enemy troops are closing in, yet the pianist carries on playing.
But quite lovely for all that.
Vinyl released 1979 - This is a great Larry Coryell album thats close to soft jazz . It’s an album with the Brubeck brothers that is irresistably energetic with so much passion and joy. Larry's trademark chunky sound together with technical playing makes this a must buy. The melodious nature of the tunes means that Larry has a platform from which he effortlessly churns out inspirational solos and the sidemen aren't half bad either. A shortish recording but each and every song is a gem. ????
Bass – Chris Brubeck
Drums – Dan Brubeck
Guitar – Larry Coryell
Percussion – Ray Mantilla
Piano – Darius Brubeck
Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos - Gourgous Bach Guitar works - Sounding very Nice
Sorry to be boring by reposting the same image, but it is what I'm listening to right now and it is divine. I'm currently in the second set from the afternoon of 25 June. Just calibrating my ears again now I have my amplifier back.
