On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Playing on Compact Disc - Part 4 of Gurus experiment of Hip Hop meeting Jazz - Featuring all the artsist on the cover
Colin James - Miles To Go
I am working my way through and listening via Tidal to a stack of albums recommended on here and am enjoying all of them. But this is a stand out album for me, recommended by Ewemon, a classy and classic blues offering by Canadian Colin James.
It is a belter, and no mistake.
Yet again, thanks to Ewen and so many others for posting such great music on this fine forum.
A J Ghent - Neo Blues Project
Postie brought this yesterday, now ripped and giving it a listen. Funky blues might be a suitable description.
Another Ewemon recommendation and yet another belter. The only problem is that this album only has 6 tracks. But like AJ himself, often the best things come in small packages.
Don't you just love the Music Room!
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road .
A bit of a Crisis moment today singing beautifully from my humble system.
Playing on Vinyl - And sounding fabulous
John Mayall’s The Blues Breakers - Bare Wires....
Eva cassidy - Songbird Uk 1st press vinyl.

Indigo Meadow
I'm usually always game for some psychedelic rock and The Black Angels do it very well indeed managing to feed in undertones of sounds and memories from the early psych' era of 13th Floor Elevators and others from around about the West Coast Bay Area back in the day.
This track isn't off the album I'm playing now it was a few years earlier on their debut album 'Passover' and gives a flavour of things to come.
Imarahan - Imarahan - Uk vinyl 1st press
I've not listened to this in almost a year and don't know why a really excellent fusion LP a great band to see live.
Now playing......
Kurt Rosenwinkle - Heartcore
Kurt Rosenwinkel (guitar, keyboards, drums, programming), Mark Turner (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet), Ben Street (bass), Jeff Ballard (drums), Ethan Iverson (piano, keyboards), Andrew D'Angelo (bass clarinet), Mariano Gil (flute, bass flute).
Streaming on TIDAL........ taking Kurt's Heartcore album for a spin. Impressive group of musicians and some fine sounds through the first couple of tracks!
On CD:-
Scritti Politti - Songs to Remember

If we ever change our National Anthem, then I’d campaign for Strictly Genteel.
The Alabama Lovesnakes - III (2018). Southern blues rock? They are from Sweden. Thanks Ewemon I think, for the band suggestion.
One to watch.

Cognitive
Super prog rock / metal, Soen was formed by Opeth's drummer Martine Lopez and features a couple of other luminaries, an extra gold star and tick in their book is that the vocalist could pass as Mathew James Maynard (Tool, Puscifer, A perfect Circle) whose voice (for me) is a perfect natural fit for this genre.
4 cd set.
King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King...
Contains my favorite Nesmith trax
