On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Superb album of the second great quintet.
Mark Knopfler and Chet Atkins - Neck and Neck
(2014)
Lunatic Soul - Walking On A Flashlight Beam
Lovely haunting prog-rock / soft metal by Mariusz Duda, Riverside's front man. A bit of a modern favourite of mine.
John Grant - Pale Green Ghosts
My best buddy recommended I give this a listen.
So far so good
Some very early Mary Black. 1983, I think. The song Crusader on this is particularly lovely.

Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street....
wow, still with the postcards! I still have my first issue of Exile - recently cleaned and looking like new - but the cards are long gone.
Yep, all still intact and the albums hardly played as well. I also have the NME flexi disc from 29/04/72 and I can’t remember ever playing it.
Some barsteward nicked my NME flexi. Played it a lot.
Not guilty. Never ever even been anywhere near Scotty Land!

Sandy Denny - North Star Grassmen and the Ravens - 1980s UK vinyl.
Brilliant songs, sung by a great singer, and a backing lineup of some of the finest U.K. folk-rock instrunmentalists.
I can't stop playing the first track over and over - many thanks - such a tragic life- there's a 5 CD release on Amazon for £10 which seems worth a shot.
(1984)
After the sublime music from Lunatic Soul earlier I've had to move on to one of my favourite live Tangerine Dream Albums 'Poland'. This two CD album is from a very fine (2011) Esoteric label remastering that has much improved on the original CD releases sound and should be a must buy for TD fans out there.

Nice choice Steve,
I really love Barbakane - Fabulous track.
I also enjoy 1982's Logo's live album.I saw them on that tour at Brighton Dome and it was a great gig.Memories a bit vauge but I do remember they had a sort of net mesh over their keyboards and alot of dryice.Backed up by a good p.a system.Shame as its the only time I saw them live.
Well pleased I had a phase of collecting their albums and have a good 25 plus.
Have our heard much Klaus Schulze ? - he's done some superb stuff - The Mirage album is worth checking out...you will love Crystal Lake
Wishing you a good weekend..... nearly there
Robert Schumann (1810-1856): Einav Yarden, piano

Thanks Ian, Tangerine Dream have remained a favourite band of mine, they indoctrinated me well into the Berlin School back in the early days and have had me seeking out more of that genre ever since. There is a strong argument to be made that they were an even better live band to which the Tangerine Tree can provide evidence and fine support. A quick look in the virtual library shows me that I have 97 of their albums in the collection which includes about 75 from the Tangerine Tree. Like many others I think they faded from the mid 80's with the exception of just a few albums. Klaus Shulze is another very fine Berlin School artist who I still enjoy.
Returning your wishes for a good weekend. Cheers.
I just found out about the More Blood album on this forum, so as I've just pre-ordered the vinyl I thought I'd check out the original again to see if it still holds its magic. Answer: yes, of course!
Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos - Uplifting Flute Concerti
Opening The Caravan Of Dreams - Ornette Coleman.

love the 3 sounds one of the lesser talked about artists on Blue Note but such great musicians. Great entry level Jazz if you find the endless and complicated solos
Brand X - Morrocan Roll, I fancied something mostly instrumental to start the session.
