Singer Marty Balin, the co-founder of US psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane, has died while being taken to a hospital in Tampa, Florida.
The group defined the 1960s San Francisco Sound - a mix of blues, folk, rock and jazz, and the expression of the hippie lifestyle.
RIP

Pop a Paris - Rock n' Roll and Mini Skirts is fun from beginning to end and is a perfect place for the uninitiated to get a taste of French pop in the '60s.

Sohn - Tremors

First chance I have had to play this louder through my recently upgraded system. OMG it sounds fantastic, very haunting.

To be fair the KEF's are not letting the side down.

Ton Koopman - Dieterich Buxtehude: Opera Omnia VII

Dieterich Buxtehude (Dietrich, Diderich) was a German-Danish organist and a highly regarded composer of the baroque period. His organ works comprise a central part of the standard organ repertoire and are frequently performed at recitals and church services. He wrote in a wide variety of vocal and instrumental idioms, and his style strongly influenced many composers, including Johann Sebastian Bach. Organist at the Marienkirche in Lübeck for most of his life, Buxtehude is considered today to be the leading German composer in the time between Schütz and Bach.

Bin Hu - Ciaccona

If you like classical quitar music, than I can recommend this album very much. Bin Hu’s playing and transcriptions of Bach’s music is wonderful. The Chaconne is absolutely delightful.

(1976)

Royal Scam

No need to introduce Steely Dan or give reasons why I'm listening to them yet again. This is one wonderful album, well recorded and sounding luverly ripped from early original (1986) original MCA label silver disc.
