On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Mark Knopfler - Get Lucky.
Apart from the first stun of axel willner's " From here we go sublime" Albums brilliance from 2007. This I feel is his best.
Tamar Beraia, piano
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827): Eroica Variations Op. 35 | Rondos Op. 51 Nos. 1 & 2
Franz Liszt (1811-1886): Sonata for Piano in B minor S.178
Still very good, if you like this sort of thing.

Carly Simon - No Secrets.
Looking at this cover and looking at her hand, I'm wondering whether she was practicing holding that shape for a particularly difficult chord sequence playing the guitar.
I wasn't looking at her hands......
......Still trying to remember if I have this on vinyl somewhere.
Oh behave now.
Tidal. Hilary Hahn - Elgar: Violin Concerto, Vaughan Williams: The Lark Ascending - LSO - Colin Davis

So Sonne and Mutter were deservedly huge tracks (or my favourites anyway), but quite some time ago when I had Sky TV I absolutely loved Rammstein's videos on MTV, and this really was a case of video prompting album purchases.

Started my workout with a great album from the fi st period of Rush, the period I like up till pictures at an excibition....
Ended my workout with this one, not so good as fly by night...
Interesting album....
Bill Evans - Conversations with Myself. Controversial among jazz circles upon its release in 1963 for use of overdubbed piano.
I much prefer Bill Evans in his preferred format of piano trio.
Essential Classics on R3, NAT-urally.
DEXTER GORDON Gettin' Around (1965 - 2014 Music Matters Blue Note Vinyl Reissue.

Wonderful record which I played over and over in the sixties. Just giving it another listen.
Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos - Nice enough Best of Bach - Perfect to get the working week going
I've been looking forward to getting this new release for a while. Amy Helm - This Too Shall Light. Produced by Joe Henry, with songs mainly written by other people, such as Robbie Robertson, Allen Toussaint, Rod Stewart, T- Bone Burnett and Hiss Golden Messenger's MC Taylor. Sounding good on a first listen.
This is a wonderful album, beautifully played and a great recording too. Perfect for a lovely sunny autumn morning.
