On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Boz Scaggs - Out of the Blues. Another new purchase. I've seen this posted quite a lot on this forum by a few members. I mainly remember Boz from the 70s for Silk Degrees. After checking him out on the internet for some live performances, this led me to a brilliant live CD from 2004 where I was a little surprised to find he performed a few blues songs, amongst the R&B/ soul tunes I knew him for. Anyway, this has led me to this album, which is sounding rather good.

Clear Spot is in my all time top 20 albums. The Magic Band never sounded more, well magic! Currently enjoying the re-mastered version from the Sun Zoom Spark box set. "Big eyed beans....." contains one of my favourite Beefheart lyrics
" Men let your wallets flop out,
And women open your purses,
Cause a man or a woman without a big eyed bean from Venus
Is suffering with the worstest of curses
Yeah, you're suffering, with the worstest of curses"
I’ve always preferred the 12” versions of Soft Cell’s singles to the standard 7”. I thought I’d play this one after seeing them on Jools Holland last week.

Great album, exudes energy, and I can see why this used to be a regular workout favourite for me a decade or more ago.
Another under-rated artist.
edit:
Hell, this is a good album I need to explore more of her later work - 'Time' is fantastic, almost as though she has Linkin Park as a backing band. I adore good pop/rock, but with a voice like this I think she could make a bad tune work.
I've had this CD for years, probably since it came out, but it rarely gets played. In fact, I don't think it's been played since it was ripped in 2013. Now correcting that. My, she has a pair of lungs!
Great concert of the guys...

Yes, I've seen those as well. Very good indeed.
Playing on Cassette on Maxell ULS - C60 - Fabulous Bob Marley from 1973
Boz Scaggs - Come On Home
Boz has journeyed into the blues a couple of times, with this and his most recent offering, Out Of The Blues, which has been posted a few times recently. I have listened to both theses albums a few times and, IMHO, 'Come On Home' is the more memorable.
On Come On Home, Boz seems comfortable singing the blues, even though it might be a little out of his comfort zone. I have quite a few of the man's albums and I rate this one very highly. And by the way, the production is superb and the musicianship of the backing band is wonderful.
Playing on Vinyl on Columbia Records 1976 - Peter Tosh's Debut album after leaving The Wailers - Legalise It
Bill Withers - Greatest Hits
Having listened to Jose James' 'Lean On Me' album of Bill Withers covers posted on here recently (and rather lovely it is too), I was prompted to listen to the real thing.
I have owned this Bill Withers compilation of hits for many years and listening to it today I am reminded what a fine body of work it is. Every track a belter!

I haven't heard that album in a very long time. Possibly since the Eighties.

That was my first Cream album. Might give it a spin later.
