Bobbie Gentry - The Girl From Chickasaw Country, WAV CD rip.
1st listen to the first CD, superb, she’s a great interpreter of a song, she’s got get country-style material, this is incredibly affecting, lovely stuff, great SQ as well.
Did you get your ripper to recognise this and work for you Eoin?
6 of the 8 discs today Steve, if the others aren’t in the dbPoweramp database by the time I’ve listened to these 6 I’ll bite the bullet and hand type the tags.
Thanks Eoin, I'll have another go tomorrow...

It was a bit inconsistent, some it recognised at the box-set and set album and cover correctly, others it got the album title as the original with no cover art, as long as it got the track titles right I just edited the others in the ripper.
(1976)
Steve Miller Band - Fly Like An Eagle
These boys were very good back in the day and its been way too long since I've taken this out for a spin.
Derek and The Dominos - Live at The Fillmore, playing just the one track, "why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?" is stretched to an epic 14 minutes and really driven by the propulsive drumming of Jim Gordon .Really lucky to have these performances considering the short lifespan of the band and EC is on fire.
Creedence Clearwater Revival - best of.
Some classic swamp rawk from John Fogerty and the boys ................. sho' 'nuff. ................... TURN it UP!

Dave, I’ll dig out Willy and the Poor Boys and musically syringe my ears in the morning.
Ray Charles, Genius Loves Company - reissue vinyl.
1st.play for me, Ray Charles duetting with music heavyweights, fantastic singing. I’d missed out on this, Touraij played the Elton John duet at the Vertere demo on Saturday, By the wonders of modern technology I ordered this after the song ended, and it arrived today.

Love their version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine", it shouldn't work but it does

It certainly does.
Gary Clark Jr - Blak and Blu, feeling the need to hear some overdriven Gibson.
Usually when I fancy listening to Mary Black I go for one of her early albums but this evening this caught my eye. I'm now reminded how lovely it is.

Having listened to Jose James' 'Lean On Me' album of Bill Withers covers posted on here recently (and rather lovely it is too), I was prompted to listen to the real thing.
I have owned this Bill Withers compilation of hits for many years and listening to it today I am reminded what a fine body of work it is. Every track a belter!
Look at the last José James, lean on me, all Bill Withers tunes, 24/96 qobuz.
‘3’ from Norwegian duo Susanna and the Magical Orchestra, really interesting album with gorgeous vocals and superb production, they do some interesting covers too, worth checking out, streaming on Tidal.

Santana - Caravanserai. Just an enjoyable album to let flow all around you as it's impossible not to move with the Latin rhythms.
My favourite Santana album.
And mine.
Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris - Trio.
Playing on Vinyl on VP Records -Some fine Dub Reggae from Winston Edwards recorded in 1974 at Lee Perry's Black Ark Studios in Jamaica - My Technics SL1210 is digging deep with those basslines
Now Playing........
Nora Jones - Little Broken Hearts
Streaming on TIDAL......... spending a little time with Nora this Monday afternoon and she is sounding mighty fine!

With the last coffee of the night, before the big storm arrives, something lyrical and slow:

Beethoven Piano Concerto No.2.
Kempf/an Kempen '53 rec.
This is not polished as his later set with Leitner but his wit and sophistication shines through the piece with wonderful original cadenza particularly the 1st where he throws in some dramatic riffs from Beethoven's later piano style.
nigelb posted:Boz Scaggs - Come On Home
Boz has journeyed into the blues a couple of times, with this and his most recent offering, Out Of The Blues, which has been posted a few times recently. I have listened to both theses albums a few times and, IMHO, 'Come On Home' is the more memorable.
On Come On Home, Boz seems comfortable singing the blues, even though it might be a little out of his comfort zone. I have quite a few of the man's albums and I rate this one very highly. And by the way, the production is superb and the musicianship of the backing band is wonderful.
I have an official ltd edition cd of a brilliant live show he did for the radio to promote this album.
Not sure why it was never given a general release or the album given a deluxe treatment with the show tacked on.
Reminds me to dig it out.
