I haven't heard that album in a very long time. Possibly since the Eighties.

One of the best albums of it's time.

Mudcrutch 2. On vinyl from 2016. I loved this album from the get-go, but it takes on a special meaning now knowing it's Petty's final studio effort.

John Mellencamp & Carlene Carter. Sad Clowns & Hillbillies. On vinyl from 2017. If you liked "All The Roadrunning" from Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris then you may find this album in a similar vein and equally enjoyable.

Paul McCartney. Chaos And Creation In The Backyard (2005). On re-issued gold vinyl from 2018. One of my favorite Macca albums, the SQ improvement over the original CD is better than anticipated. Surprisingly, the increased dynamic range is most notable on the acoustic passages as opposed to the amplified music. "Jenny Wren" is strikingly vibrant and immediate on the new vinyl.

Steve Winwood. Arc Of A Diver. On original vinyl from 1980. Stevie pretty much did it all on this brilliant album; credited with acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, bass, drums, percussion, drum machines, pianos, synthesizers, organ, lead and backing vocals, production, engineering, and mixing.

Bit of an unsung hero is Stevie. If you saw the Blind faith get together a few years ago.....he would be rocking it on keyboards , get up and play guitar with Clapton, and be every bit as good. Very talented. Great album.

I have got this trio CD 'all in one' bundle off the River at a really good price, there are some nice bonus tracks too which I think compliment this remastered package nicely. Nice chillout sessions for those calm & relaxing evenings.

Did anyone else pick up the rather delightful R4 programme hosted by, and about, Susanne Sundfor? It was couple of weeks ago and still available (well it was yesterday).

Mostly about her relationship to and with Oslo, but she is a Norwegian musician of some renown. The programme features a brief soundbite from the Vigeland Mausoleum in Oslo; a concrete/granite room with no windows. A reverberation time of 10 to 15s produces some remarkable sonic effects. There are plenty of links on the interweb to display the delight.

Cheerio folks.

You're Driving Me Crazy

Van Morrison and Joey Defrancesco - You're Driving Me Crazy, an atmospheric album in the jazzy blues style, even if they are covering old ground.

It's disc 6 of the Bobbie Gentry 8-CD The Girl From Chickawsaw County: The Complete Capitol Masters - the best box set IMO since the Beatles mono vinyl - and we're in Alabama for the swampy Fancy, made with Rick Hall at Muscle Shoals. Bobbie produced a few tracks herself, and apparently did the cover painting. As ever with this set, the SQ is superb, the music peerless and BG's singing spot on.

What a treasure this set is: at last this trailblazing artist gets the treatment, attention to detail and TLC her music deserves...

DISC 6 - FANCY
1. Fancy
2. Delta Man
3. Something in the Way He Moves
4. Find 'Em, Fool 'Em and Forget About 'Em
5. He Made a Woman Out of Me
6. Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head
7. If You Gotta Make a Fool of Somebody
8. Rainmaker
9. Wedding Bell Blues
BONUS TRACKS
10. In the Ghetto [I'll Never Fall In Love Again (UK)]
11. Fancy [Mono radio edit]*
12. Apartment 21 [Original 7"]
13. Away In A Manger [The Christmas Sound of Music, 1969]
14. Scarlett Ribbons [The Christmas Sound of Music, 1969]
15. Circle 'Round the Sun*
