Nice album to play loud and have it splashing into the room, great solos from Randy as well....

Subtile Jazz...

In from work and fancied something with a relaxed, easy tempo. This will do nicely.

Ali Farka Toure & Toumani Diabate - Ali & Toumani.

Nothing very revolutionary being posted by me as I re-discover my music collection, boring, I know.

This lovely, lilting album is all I can offer at the mo', but it really is most highly recommended.

Freddie Hubbard - Skydive

Great (soul) jazz by Freddie Hubbard and his all-star (e.g. Keith Jarrett, George Benson and Ron Carter) band!

Halford > Resurrection

Time now for the not so Silent Screams of Metal God Rob. The 2008 Metal God Entertainment version of this album sounds so much better than the 2000 Legacy Records one!

Status Quo - Rocking All Over The Years.

I know, it's not big, and it's not clever, .......................... but sometimes, I just can't help myself.

  Nighty night.

I always find this an immersive album. It could also be a soundtrack for a TV series or movie.

Miles Davis - Miles Smiles.

Great jazz by Miles Davis and his quintet. With Herbie Hancock on piano, Wayne Shorter on tenor sax, Ron Carter on bass, and Tony Williams on drums.

No apologies needed for a bit of Quo, Dave. Ok, not a lot of depth and complexity to their music but it was damn good fun.  I particularly enjoyed their gigs where the audience would join-in with the famous Quo dance - thumbs in the eyelets on the sides of your jeans and pump left and right to the rhythm. Great stuff

No need to apologise - I love Quo and so, I suspect, do an awful lot of hifi owners! Too much musical snobbery in the world - we should celebrate all music, whether it’s to our own personal taste or not.

The Civil Wars - Barton Hollow

Worth it for their cover of Billie Jean alone.

Oh dear. http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/153052

What is Richard thinking of? Absolutely No dynamic range at all, totally brick walled and quite unlistenable.

Yo la Tengo, There’s a riot going on. Interesting stuff from these dudes on their latest 2018 album, a bit Jon Hopkins esque in places if you like that sort of thing. Streaming on tidal, recommended.

I love Richard Thompson’s albums, he’s something of a genius, but agree that the last few have sounded dreadful. As you say, what is he thinking. Maybe he’s deaf. Maybe he doesn’t care. Maybe he doesn’t know any better. Maybe he simply has no control.

I made an incorrect selection this afternoon by mistake whilst moving the remote. The first few notes and I realised it was wrong. Consequently I found this in my 'Last Played' album list. Now I'm playing it and am reminded what an absolutely brilliant album this is. The Duke's tribute to Billy Strayhorn. Highly recommended.

I'm seeing Tim Hecker for the first time on Saturday, at the Barbican . It should be interesting.
