On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Wayne Shorter - Super nova
Good (free) jazz by Wayne Shorter and his band.
Fun Fact: Chick Corea plays on this album as well. But not on piano, but on vibes and drums!

- Drums, Vibraphone [Vibes] – Chick Corea
- Guitar – John McLaughlin, Sonny Sharrock
- Guitar [Classical] – John McLaughlin (tracks: A2), Walter Booker (tracks: A3)

Great album displaying the power of a band...driven by such an extraordinary musician...

Just played: Sade > Love Deluxe
Now playing: Seal > Seal
Playing on Vinyl on Souljazz Records - A fine Studio 1 Compilation album
Benjamin Booker - Witness
More BE and his brilliant trio. A classic album on CD. It always amuses me that the people in the audience chattering away while Bill was playing can't have known that history was being made in front of them. If only they'd paid more attention...
'The Quiet Revolution' - British Jazz Funk from Ronny Jordan - a classy cool CD.
Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin II - Deluxe Edition 24/96
Edward
(21st September)
The Big Bad Blues - Billy F Gibbons
I've been playing this almost daily for the past couple of weeks since it was released, just great blues rock from one of the main men who know how to sing some heavy blues and deftly wield that axe.
Cat Power.
McCoy Tyner - Prelude and Sonata
Some fine jazz by McCoy Tyner and his band. This album contains two classical pieces (Chopin & Beethoven). But the way the group plays it, is sounds more like jazz. The other pieces are jazz pieces, including an original from McCoy Tyner.
- Alto Saxophone – Antonio Hart
- Bass – Christian McBride
- Drums – Marvin "Smitty" Smith
- Piano – McCoy Tyner
- Tenor Saxophone – Joshua Redman (tracks: 1, 3, 4)
William Bell - This Is Where I Live
I know this has been posted recently (by Dave M IIRC). Listening to it now, I am reminded what a belter of an album it is.
The new City and Colour album due out Nov 23rd
Inspired by Tony2011 listening to Closing Time, I have dug out one of my favourite albums by Tom Waits, Rain Dogs.
Sean Rowe - New Lore
Never tire of Mr Rowe's wonderful baritone voice.
Thought I start the weekend with a bit of classic Jimi. What a crazy opening Exp is? Must have taken courage to persuade the record label guys to go with it. Good on ya', Jimi.
Shelby Lynne - Just A Little Lovin'
Oh wow! This is just delicious.
Italian CD compilation of dubious legality. There's no doubting the quality of the music though...
BBC Radio 5 Live. Brighton v West Ham. COYI!
