One Jimi album led to another.  He can be addictive like that.

Oh, should have said, this is The Cry Of Love for those who don't recognise the cover.

The Big Bad Blues - Billy F Gibbons

I've been playing this almost daily for the past couple of weeks since it was released, just great blues rock from one of the main men who know how to sing some heavy blues and deftly wield that axe.

absolute class Steve, really enjoying this one myself, it just delivers!

a beautiful, gentle melodic album from Marissa Nadler - her latest

and one that just passed me by earlier this year, correcting that now. Arstidir (very careful typing that - you can only imagine spellchecker!). one of my very early discoveries on this forum, described as a mix of Sigur Ros/Talk Talk - just lovely.

That is the absolute beauty of the postings here; you can easily move from the raunch of Billy F above to the gentle musings of Marissa & Arstidir.

I haven't played this for ages but then when the album was discussed on here a little while ago I made a mental note to dig it out again.

Various Artists -  Techno The New dance Sound of Detroit

Original 1988 double vinyl LP

Watching the history of dance on BBC 4 made me dig this out really innovative at the time and still sounds great.

Van Morrison - Tupelo Honey (1971). On a 1973 vinyl release, sounding very fine. Also, got a jar a while ago of this honey from Florida, expensive and tasty.

My listening of the evening, George Li an interesting young talent, will be looking forward to his next full album...

Then dipped myself into this fantastic music, executed with a good sense of artistic insight...

Think I will join PAULM160 on playing a Marissa Nadler album.

This is her first from 2004 and an album I haven't played in years.

A couple of mentions above of Marissa Nadler, who Is new to me although I seem to recall she sang on a track by Ben Watt on his excellent Fever Dream album from a couple of years ago.  I will give Marissa a try in the near future.

Now playing........

Siri Gjære & Tord Gustavsen - Aire & Angels II

Siri Gjære & Tord Gustavsen - Aire & Angels II

Siri Gjære (vocals) & Tord Gustavsen (piano)

Streaming on TIDAL.........  Enjoyed the first album so taking 'Aire & Angels II' out for its first spin, once again the opening track 'Winter's Broken is sounding sweet! Unfortunately both of these album are listed at $54.81for used copies on the river so unless they are re-released it looks like they will be TIDAL Favorites.........
