On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Deluxe version.
Last for tonight.
1990s electronica on CD. Their [Mortal's] second album, it sank without trace, but deserved better.
Marissa Nadler Covers 1 set.
Just found this...
When you think about it, the quantity & quality of Steely Dan's songwriting is quite staggering.
Wish I could play guitar...
Now playing.........
Árstíðir - Nivalis
Streaming on TIDAL........ going with a mention from PAULM160 to hear some 'gentle musings' after returning home a bit later then usual from a hectic Friday afternoon at work. The opening track 'While This Way' is sounding quite nice and look forward to the rest of the album.....
Now Playing...........
Marissa Nadler - For My Crimes
Streaming on NAS......... going with another mention from PAULM160 and taking out Marissa for a spin. The opening track 'For My Crimes' certainly grabbed my attention, wonderful voice along with the music and lyrics, very, very nice! I am enjoying this........
Cannonball in Europe (1962) was the first CA album I heard. This is very similar, even down to some tunes. Great soloing by all but especially Yusef Lateef.
Playing on Vinyl - Fancied some Stephen Stills and this 1975 album is ticking the boxes
The playing is good, the format of three or two pieces is a bit strange and not so classical like...
First run, have high expectations of this album...
Ron Sexsmith - Carousel One
I decided to hit the laconic early.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Electric Ladyland - CD Rip
Was trying to decide what album to start the weekend, noticed the post above from MDS.
Starting with what for me is Jim’s best album.
Really looking forward to “Electric Ladyland - 50Th Anniversary Deluxe Edition” released November 9.

Already placed my pre-order on the river, will be counting the days until the postman delivers it.
Electric Ladyland is for me the third greatest album of all time, IMHO.

Igor Levit - Bach: partitas
This is a great album. The earlier albums of him have sometimes been a bit too much about placing notes in space. On this record it’s really sophisticated music which is being played with rhythm and melody. Recommended...
The Beatles - Help!, I always have a soft spot for this one as this was the first ever album I received from my parents ,in glorious mono.
A random pick. 1980s vinyl:
Another random pick (but a fortuitous one), again on 1980s vinyl:
