On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Considering what this could have been, a disappointing release.

More Lounge than anything else but perfect for waking up.

Fantastic record Haim and an excellent vinyl pressing as are all of my Steeplechase titles. For me Chet Bakers early career was VERY hit and miss his obsession with Miles Davis clouded his own individuality but later on starting with 'She Was Good to Me' in 1972 he just got better and better culminating in these Steeplechase releases which are all excellent.
Slash capabilities a still fine and the songs are realy between good and great.

I keep seeing this album mentioned and still haven't played it. It's in my library so it's definitely going to get a listen today. Thanks for the reminder Ken
Arstidir - Nivalis. After a couple of mentions by PaulM160 and Seakayaker, I gave this a try and liked it a lot. Paul described their sound as a little like Sigur Ros / Talk Talk which gives you a good idea of the type of music. I'd never heard of them before, so thanks for the recommendations.
On CD:-
I will never forget this man! He was supporting The Levellers at a gig in St Albans some years ago. I will never forget his ability to use just his guitar and his voice to fill a venue in the way he did. I remember sitting there, mouth open! He is just amazing!
Paulo Nutini - These Streets, raiding my wife's collection
The Grateful Dead - Wake of the Flood. From 1973 - an album I keep going back to.
I've had for 2 weeks now by the same band "Pacific Northwest - 73-74 Complete Recordings". Nineteen cds , six concerts that I cannot bring myself to play. Why? Well I'm just amazed at the packaging of this set, it is so over the top and just puts me off. Why can't they just simply release the music on it's own without all the extra paper ,card, stiffeners and so on. Perhaps there is less profit doing it that why.
Kate Bush
The Whole Story - CD Rip
First album on this Sunday morning after watching the F1.
Edward
Chiaroscuro Quartet on BBC Radio FM. Lunchtime concert repeated from last Monday.
Keith Jarrett trio - At the Blue Note.
Just finished listening to 'Sunday, first set'. This set opens with a 21 minute version of 'On green dophin street'. Very good jazz by these masters of the piano trio.
Keith Jarrett - piano; Gary Peacock - bass; Jack Dejohnette - drums.
TDF - Retail Therapy .
McCoy Tyner - Quartet
Now listening to this live recording of McCoy Tyner and his quartet.
- Bass – Christian McBride
- Drums – Jeff "Tain" Watts
- Piano – McCoy Tyner
- Saxophone – Joe Lovano
I bought this last year along with a few other Sade albums and had just not got round to listening to it. Recent postings reminded me to give this a listen. It's rather good
Soldier of Love - Sade
