On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Hi Res
Last for tonight.
Now playing.......
Tasmin Archer - Great Expectations
Streaming on TIDAL.......... A mention earlier by PCD and others had me place in the TIDAL queue and not taking out for a spin.
T Bone Burnett. The Talking Animals. On vinyl from 1987. Music that combines a percussive punch with an atmospheric guitar. It's a fun and refreshing album.
Jackson Browne. Late For The Sky. On original vinyl from 1974. Browne's third album is a gem. He gains some vocal gravitas and begins singing with confidence and authority not heard on his first two albums.
Fleetwood Mac. The band's second eponymous album (1975) is a musical and sonic gem on first pressing vinyl. I find it better than my MFSL vinyl.
Zhu Xiao-Mei - Bach: Well Tempered Clavier.
Nice performance of Bach's Well Tempered Clavier, book 1.
Some trax off the above album.
Some free passages exchanged for passages with immense beauty and intensity...
Interesting versions with an Olafur Arnold’s taste to it...

Some pieces are taken to far, not interesting and too far away from the core...
Warren Zevon. Excitable Boy. On original vinyl from 1978. Brilliant album with outstanding SQ. Simultaneously bright and dark, easy and edgy, fun and lurky.
Ståle Kleiberg: Mass for Modern Man
The 2L label produced some really great recordings!

George Michael - Older, his third album from '96 after an absence of some time.
Great album, I really enjoyed this one back in the day when I was burning in my Naim CD3 player/NAC92/90.3, i'll never forget it, one of George's best by far!
Yes, I thought it was a return to form, after the disappointing for me, "Listen Without Prejudice".
I was lucky enough to see George went along with my partner expecting not very much and what a voice great show.

Listened to this to see what all the fuss was about and have to say I was a bit underwhelmed
Continuing my exploration of artists the Fall covered from “Before the Fall”.
Rollin’ Danny was the song.

Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos - Some Massenet to get the working week going - Sounding very nice
21 years after the release of Hilary Hahn Plays Bach, on which she played Sonata 3 and Partitas 2 and 3, here is the follow up, with Sonatas 1 and 2 and Partita 1. Absolutely magical.

Exceptional again from Chet just listening to his rendition of Wayne Shorter's -Beautiful Black Eyes on Side B.
A fantastic recording and pressing.
This is another gem on vinyl !
Chet Baker (t) (voc), Phil Markowitz (p), Scott Lee (b), Jeff Brilinger (d)
