On early 90s CD. This, along with its predecessor (Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band) is Yoko's best solo album.

Playing it as a riposte to everyone who's been slagging her off these past few days.

She's as mad as a box of frogs of course, but a really talented musician (concert standard trained classical pianist, formally trained Japanese opera singer) and a towering figure of the avant garde.

The Doors (1967). Listening to the 2017 "original stereo mix" CD rip. Tidal is great and all and I do subscribe to it, but you have to listen to their version whichever that is.. Nice to be able to play "this" version just because.

Tangerine Dream - Ricochet  - Japan Remaster 2015

Its a new transfer apparently from the original master tape. Whatever, it is much clearer than the 1995 master I have got as well.

Got this from Japan off ebay - cost £21 + £2.50 postage. Worth the cost because its one of my favourite records ever. I bought the LP record in 1987 for about £3 I think and I still have it.

This Japan CD is a very nice thing - a replica of the LP record cover. Its part of a series with Phaedra, Rubycon and Stratosfear - all new transfers. As soon as I heard this one I went and ordered Rubycon and Phaedra. I will report on the SQ of these when they turn up.

Tricky - Maxinquaye.

Another great album to emanate from the 90’s Bristolian quarters along with Portishead and Massive Attack.

Realised I was suffering some Led Zep withdrawal symptoms so thought I'd put that right with a dose of LZIII.

Ah! That's better.

I rather like the baroque style introduction to Burn, and then the song itself, of course. Great album, but inappropriately overshadowed by MIJ.

So that’s all three of their best IHO.

Wayne Shorter - Night Dreamer. His first solo outing. Thought I’d play this following the discussion of Emanon, his latest release, above.

Nice, I have an original 1975 vinyl copy that I convinced my sister to buy me for Christmas that year! Super album.

Spirit Of Eden had a flurry of mentions recently which prompted another whirl of it here. Shawn on 6M Breakfast has been playing trails for a recent programme on 6Music presented by Guy Garvey and featuring a look back at the album, with guests. Haven't got round to listening to it yet and it expires soon, Oct 20th poss. Search Guy Garver Spirit Of Eden on the radio iPlayer.

Malia & Boris Blank - Convergence.

Multi-layered textures of silky smooth goodness from Malia, with Boris in uncharacteristically restrained mood ..................... belter!

Santana - Sacred Fire: Live in South America, haven't played this in eons thinking from memory it was a bit Santana-lite. But its not too bad and features a spirited medley of "Black Magic Woman, Gypsy Queen and Oye Como Va".Also I've noticed this was around the time that Mr Santana went overboard referencing the melodies of other artists songs in the middle of all his guitar solos.

Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band - on Ryko CD from the early 1990s. Brilliant primal rock 'n' roll from Lennon, Ringo and Voorman, with a guest appearance from Ornette Coleman.

  Malia - Yellow Daffodils.

More smooth goodness from Malia ........... what a unique voice she has, and you can never have too much Malia, IMHO.

You just damaged my bank balance! Similarly one of my great favourites so couldn't resist the chance of improvement....now the long wait for delivery and attempts to resist also buying Phaedra and Rubycon...

For me Massive Attack lost their way a bit about the time that Tricky went solo and although I wouldn't want repeat after repeat of Blue Lines or Protection some of the robot music that came after (Teardrops aside) just lacked the soul of the first two records.
