Hi Tony
Visually that is quite some artwork. Still trying to figure out if its a photoshop job or if its a real photograph. Any insight from the notes? If the music is half as interesting, I have to go to TIDAL and give a listen.

Hi,
The artwork is by Teo Schifferli. Not photoshop but a full art piece. Here it is from a different angle:

Thanks Tony
Now the original makes a whole lot more sense. There must have been something about the original that suggested that this was NOT Photoshop. That is genius.

I saw the performance last week at the Barbican. Dark & Smokey, it certainly concentrated the mind. This review gives a flavour of what went on better than I can. Oh yeah, I did enjoy the gig as well - https://www.musicomh.com/revie...cker-barbican-london
CD
George Harrison - Cloud Nine, playing one of the discs from the beautifully presented Dark Horse Years box set
Initially not so great for me, but growing on me....

Carlos Santana - Blues For Salvador, although billed as a solo project he is still backed by Santana Band members, but less commercial.
It has one of his nicest songs called Bella....
Miles Davis - Milestones
Dinu Lipatti (1917-1950): The Last Recital
Bach | Mozart | Schubert | Chopin
Prompted by an earlier posting, Antonio Forcione - Tears Of Joy
And now a change of pace....AJ Ghent - The Neo Blues Project
With music like this to chill to, life is good.

Agreed Bert,it is rather lovely and typical of his lyrical playing at its best.

Lucky man, Denis. I think there are( were) only four performances of this work -Tokyo-London-Krakow-Berlin - this year and you managed to catch one of them.????
Just finished listening to The Barr Brothers - Sleeping Operator. I've been listening to this all week in the car, but it sounds fantastic through a Naim system. My first Barr Brothers album was their last release, Queen of the Breakers and I am now catching up with their back catalogue. I think I have said it before, but they remind me on some tracks of The Low Anthem. Both bands have released some beautiful music - there must be something in the water there, as both bands originate from Providence, RI (although it looks as if The Barr Brothers are now based in Canada) .
UK first press. You can't beat a bit of Todd on a lazy Saturday afternoon while waiting for your cottage pie to cook.
Eva Cassidy - Nightbird
All I can say is.....wow....and shed a quiet tear for the passing of such a great talent at such a young age and before she got the recognition she so richly deserved.
Moved on to this corker of a collaboration between Calexico and Iron & Wine - In The Reins.
The Rolling Stones - Grrr!
The Strolling Bones' hits collected together on a 3 CD set ................. my, but they wrote some great choons.
Now playing..........
Jakob Bro - Bay of Rainbows
Jakob Bro (guitar), Thomas Morgan (double bass) and Joey Baron (drums).
Streaming on NAS.......... A recent arrival and taking the 'Bay of Rainbows' out for its second spin. Enjoy Jakob's music quite a bit and this trio is fantastic! ......and looking forward to seeing them play in Seattle on the 28th!
J to Z on BBC Radio 3 FM presented by Jumoké Fashola, which this week comes from the Manchester club, Band on the Wall. They'll be playing music by Charlie Hunter on 7 and 8 string guitars.
Miles Davis - Miles Smiles
Some more good stuff from Miles Davis.
(2010)
Road Ragas
The wonderful Harry Manx captured live here doing his thing live in Canada without any overdubs to the lovely sounding final recording.
