On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Lisa Gerrard & Patrick Cassidy > Immortal Memory
Now Playing........
Van Morrison - Days Like This
Streaming on NAS........... after running a few errands, returning to another Van Morrison album, and another winner, one sweet album!
Otis Taylor - Hey Joe Opus red Meat.
I seem to playing moody, atmospheric music so far today, so this one, from the king of modern trance blues, will do nicely!
(1991)
Traffic - Smiling Phases
Great early Traffic, playing CD one of two on this double album of their best oldies.
Some sweet tunes
Mighty Mo Rodgers - Blues Is My Wailin' Wall
I have overcome my embarrassment to post yet another Ewemon recommendation. But it would be remiss of me not to post this one as it is one of my favourite Blues albums. It is simply stunning.

Now enjoying one of Mary's finest albums. The Thorn Upon The Rose is a particularly lovely song.
MDS, playing this at the moment I’ve got quite a few of both Mary and Frances Black CDs all so good very difficult to pick a firm favourite. I find they are as enjoyable now as when I first played them many many years ago artists you come back to time and time again.
I feel the same way. Think I have all Mary's studio albums, though my collection of her sister's work is restricted to compilation albums. I first discovered Mary B very many years ago when one of the Hi-Fi mags gave away a CD sampler of half-a-dozen of her songs. I was smitten from that moment.

Honest Jon's comp of Candi Staton.
Is this any good, Tobyjug? I've been looking to get a CD of Candi's classic songs for a while but places like Amazon don't seem to have much.

You are welcome Gazza, but it is Ewemon we should be thanking. His contributions on here are invaluable, as are many, many others' of course.
I try to sample as much of the interesting (to me) looking stuff on here and post those I like.
Badfinger - Wish You Were Here
Just ordered the [Expanded Edition] Released on 2 Nov
I think this is Waters' best solo album. Not one to he dipped into. It demands and deserves full commitment ie playing from start to finish without interruption.
I've chosen it this evening because I know it produces an almost holographic soundstage which gives a work-out to any system. Oh, my! It's delivering the goods this evening all right.
John Cage would have been proud.
Erasure - Pop! 20 Hits.
I've been playing moody, atmospheric choons all day, so it's time to lighten things up somewhat.
Anyone else fancy an evening of pure pop pap?

Now watching on YouTube....black coffee and cigarettes...brilliant

Funnily enough Dave I was thinking about playing this earlier but didn't get around to doing so.

Why? 2 granddaughters, aged 1 & 5, have been returned to their mother after a weekend with us, so house and life returning to calm and order...

This looks very interesting. Note to self to check this out!
Vol. 3
Having been reminded of Bill Evans and Jim Hall by Paper Plane Steve, it just seems fitting that I play this album.
