Another random pick: a 1999 CD compilation on Ace Records. Decent sound, great track selection - apart from bloody Van bloody Morrison and his bloody Brown Eyed bloody Girl, one of the most twee, prissy and tedious songs ever.

Apart from that, just the thing for a Sunday afternoon!

Well excuuuse me, Van Morrison was one of the greatest song writers, rock stars of ALL time. Oh wait, sorry that was Jim Morrison. Yeah you're right come to think of it Van Morrison is quite annoying.

Asia. Eponymous debut on original vinyl from 1982. I'm not necessarily a huge prog-rock fan, but this album stands out as exceptional in any rock-related genre.

Jethro Tull. Original Masters. On vinyl from 1985. Not only a great distillation of Tull's best material, the SQ is excellent and consistent throughout.

Mr Fingers. Cerebral Hemispheres.     2018.

Have been listening to this chap for a while. He likes to be elusive in a genre that's set in stone for most listeners. His heart belongs in that half way area of something - not future tech, not retro tech and not nothing in between something interesting.

Larry Heard is an innovator his first band Fingers Inc with one of the best ever House music vocalist Robert Owens were as important to the genre and to me as The Clash were to my brothers generation.

Their 1988 double LP Another Side is sparse and beautiful and includes Can You Feel It that along with Derrick May’s strings of Life is seminal to the Dance music genre.

If you are interested in House Music and haven’t heard Another’ Side then you should find a copy and enjoy it.

RHCPs. The Getaway. On vinyl from 2016. These guys are great at pumping out funky pop/rock with mass appeal. I routinely buy their stuff and enjoy it all. Still, I'd like to see the band challenge themselves, stray from their safe zone, and let loose with a really artistic departure of an album.

Now playing this very fine album, which should sound divine on my ND555 if my ND555 would play it, which is not the case right now. Luckily my Sony NW-WM1Z hasn't gotten problems at 24/352.8.....

This sounds so incredibly good. I don't know if the high resolution has anything to do with it, or if it's just the quality of the recording and mastering itself.....
