What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Free - Live!
Catching up on a backlog of CD ripping, as my HDX returned home today, fully re-Naimed, and this version of the album,
with extra tracks, is well worth getting hold of, even if you already have the original.
The track "Moonshine" is, as they say, "worth the price of admission alone".
It's there on Tidal, so I urge any Free fans to have a listen.

Bentley Caldwell - The Place That I Call Home - Tidal
Joining Edward, love this album, must get a copy.
Eoin, You must!
A Foot in the Door - The Best of Pink Floyd
Volume up, well whilst the cats away....
It would be rude not to.
We had a power cut today for some 7.5 hours, including a period of 'brown out'. Of course I switched the stereo and other things off for fear of damage during periodic on-off cycles and unknown effect of brown out. In the last I've always been disappointed with the sound after a power cut, but this evening the system is suddenly cooking. This could be the effect of the power amp (periodic off-on cycling has been discussed in here before), but Andrew Hill et al, especially Tony Williams, are on fire.
Jimi Hendrix - Blues, WAV CD rip.
Jimi plays the blues, it’s brilliant.
I really like Scott Hamilton’s stuff. We’ve got tickets to see him at Pizza Express in January, so to get in the mood...

I think I didn’t buy the CD because the only version I could see was the CD-R version from the river, and I was hoping to find a “real” one, every time I stream it on Tidal I remember I should get my act together.
Boz Scaggs, “A Fool to Care”....really good album with Boz and Bonnie Raitt in the Nashville groove
John Denver
Sunshine On My Shoulders: The Best Of John Denver - CD Rip
Absolutely love the music of John Denver, yet for some reason I only ever play his music on the one odd occasion, probably because I only own a couple of his greatest hits compilations, must buy some of his studio and live albums.
Edward
Haven't listened to this one in a long while. Very interesting interpretations of music. I loved both albums from this group
just arrived today...

I've seen this recommended by quite a few forum members, so I've just listened to a few tracks from it on the internet and was well impressed. Just put it on my ever increasing list of albums to buy.
play this record every now and then when I want something 'different' -- it has now grown on me!!

Played earlier cracking album.
Primal Scream - Give Out But Don't Give Up - The Original Memphis Recordings.
Shamelessly lifted from the blurb on The River.
" In 1993 Primal Scream went to Memphis to make an album with Tom Dowd and the Muscle Shoals rhythm section, that album never
saw the light of day , until now .....
Following the recent discovery of these tracks in a box lurking in Andrew Innes’ basement, this release is the original, and previously
unreleased, studio recordings from Memphis of the tracks that eventually became their 1994 album ‘Give Out But Don’t Give Up’
The resulting recordings from those classic sessions showcase the more country soul, rock’n’roll side to a band who continue to
surprise. It’s Primal Scream as you’ve never heard them before."
Now ripped and playing, this is a "must" for all Primal Scream fans.
Norah Jones - The Fall.

It's a great album, and besides, since Bentley Caldwell has recently joined this forum, it's almost your duty to buy it!
Somebody posted a Vince Gill album earlier this is a nice relaxing album.

Both 'Trouble' & 'Till the Sun Turns Black' are available in the US along with 5 other albums...... Different part of the world are impacted by licensing arrangements would be my take on music availability in different areas. With that said, 'Till The Sun Turns Black' is worth the asking price in the number of plays I had on my home stereo, car and at work.........
Now playing......
Amina Alaoui - Arco Iris
Streaming on NAS............ Amina is just what the doctor ordered to set a calm and relaxing mood after a long day at work! First heard her on Jon Balke 'Siwan' another beautiful album, and then picked up a mention from HAIM RONEN who had played this album. Well worth the time to give her a listen, especially when you just want to sit back and close the eyes!
