On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Now Playing...........
Sinead O'Connor - I do not want what I haven't got.
Streaming on NAS........... taking out Sinead out for a spin, an album I have not played for quite awhile, and she is sounding mighty sweet this morning!
Haven't listened to any Tristano in yonks. Here he is, with Art Taylor, Lee Konitz, Peter Ind, Jeff Morton and Gene Ramey. On an Atlantic Jazz Masters CD.
Playing on Vinyl on Topbeat Records - Some fine Dub Reggae from The Revolutionaries at the Legendary Channel 1

What do you think of it Ewemon? I gave it first listen this morning and thought it one of his better ones and the piano sounding superb in 24 bit version. Tracks 4 and 10 were glorious and worth the price of admission on their own imho.
'Chris' The latest album from Christine and the Queens - Brilliant follow up to Chaleur Humaine,
Collector’s Edition - 2 CD - 28 page booklet. CD1: English Album CD 2: French Album.
Pat Metheny Group - The Road to You.
Playing on Vinyl on Island Records - Fabulous Live Bob Marley and the Wailers
(1964)
A Hard Day's Night
Flicking through the virtual library this one from the fabs caught my eye and hasn't been played in years, the SQ on this half speed Stan Ricker remaster (ripped from Japanese super vinyl) is very pleasant indeed.

Not sure yet. I have all his solo piano works and I gave Parts 1 to III a listen but struggled with them mainly I think because I may have gotten a little fatigued with his solo work. Now that you mention that parts 4 and 10 are worth a listen I will play it again later tonight when I am possibly in the mood. Health hasn't been too good today so possibly wasn't the best time to give it a listen.
It is the Hi Res version I have as well.

My Mother bought all their singles and my brother bought all their albums. They were practically never off our old Dansette player.

Likewise have all the solo work and agree that some bits can be quite hard work but that can then make the sublime bits more rewarding. The two tracks I highlighted are at the lyrical more easy end of the spectrum, but I did find the more challenging pieces more jazzy and rewarding on this than other recent solo albums. Can’t judge too much on just one listen though, and now out to see U2 with my daughter, have football with my son tomorrow and then family trip to see First Man on Sunday! Somewhere I need to fit in listening again... Sorry to hear about your health today, wish you all the very best with that.
Wynton Marsalis - Black Code (From The Underground)...
Double vinyl released 2013 - An infectious blend of fusion and funk. Fine album 8)
Paul Carrack - Satisfy My Soul, he has a super voice.
As start of the evening, solid rock like Led Zeppelin, let’s see what the new one sounds like ...
Music from a friend, not liking it...
This is fantastic music, one of the earlier unplugged version, saw this live in the theater...

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
It's hard just to play just the one album from the fabs so, here is one where they are getting all trippy and 'delic. Although last year's remaster is compressed it has given the album a real shot in the arm its punchy, vibrant and full of life helping this arl fella remember those early days with great fondness when it was first released.
Haven’t given this a spin for ages - Pink Floyd - Is there anybody out there? The Wall Live 1980-81
When I first played this Eddi Reader album I wasn't sure but it has grown and grown on me and these days is the first one I reach for when I want to listen to her.
Vince Gill - Guitar Slinger, WAV CD rip.
My other Vince Gill recommendation arrived today, ripped and getting its first stream. Another lovely album, beautiful sympathetic guitar enhancing well sung fine lyrics, he’s a real class act. Thanks again Ewemon.
On a different note, I rarely use the Nova remote, but I do like the way the screen reflects in it when it’s directly in front of the player.

A fine album. What was the other VG album you bought Eoink?
