What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

About time this was brought out from the vaulted dungeon.
Now playing..........

Kristjan Randalu - Absence
Kristjan Randalu (piano), Ben Monder (electric guitar) and Markku Ounaskari (drums).
Streaming on NAS.............. A wonderful trio and perfect for this Friday evening where I am looking for some relaxing music to help let the work week fade away! Enjoyed Ferenc on guitar on the last album and Ben's guitar work here on Absence. Both fine albums with great musicians..........
Last one for the hight, chancing that the album will keep me awake:

Now playing...........

Maciej Obara - Unloved
Maciej Obara (alto saxophone), Dominik Wania (piano), Ole Morten Vågan (double bass) and Gard Nilssen (drums).
Streaming on NAS............ putting on the nightcap, to sit and relax before heading off to bed. Lovely quartet and enjoy this album quite a bit!

Their first album, some raw energy there and some bits remind me of The Strokes
Playing on Vinyl - Enchanting Vivaldi to get Saturday morning going too

Masaaki Suzuki - Bach: Musical Offering
Johann Sebastian Bach’s appearance on 7th May 1747 at the court of Frederick the Great is the best documented event in the composer’s otherwise unglamorous career. During the proceedings, Frederick provided Bach with an exceptionally difficult theme on which to improvise a fugue. The King is said to have been impressed with the improvisation, but Bach himself was less so, and announced that he intended to set the theme to paper ‘in a regular fugue’. Several months later the Musical Offering appeared in print – a collection of 13 pieces in diverse genres: fugues, canons and a trio sonata, all exploiting the ‘Royal Theme’ in various intricate ways.

First nose into it....

Tord Gustavsen Trio - Being There
With Saturday morning sunlight filtering through trees. But this won't do, there's things to be done.
Greta Van Fleet’s second album, Anthem Of The Peaceful Army. I enjoyed their first offering, but this knocks it out of the park. Despite the vocalist being uncannily reminiscent of Robert Plant, this is no Led Zeppelin tribute band, rather what LZ may have become had they continued.
Playing on Vinyl - Love this Stephen Stills debut album. No weak tracks and Going Back Home with the Clapton solo is sheer magic - Have posted this many times so for a change got an image search of the back cover

The Blue Nile - High
This won't get the baby bathed either, frankly.
Really enjoying this Compo - great track selection and sounding superb :-

Daniel Lanois ‘Shine’ - I’d forgotten this in my collection somehow but it’s a fine album.
G
Air - Talkie Walkie
Haven't played this for a while, pleased I chose it this morning sounds great.
Tettero Plays Eddie Harris & Les McCann
Live stage recording, funk, soul, bop oriented jazz, smooth grove & bluesy, one of the best of its genre.
Folker Tettero is a talented guitarist from Holland, together with Dirk Beets - trumpet and flugelhorn
Dave Breidenbach - electric bass guitar & Klaas van Donkersgoed - drums.
Available from Sound Liaison on special introduction offer in various sample rates in DXD PCM & DSD.

Playing the 2005 rerecorded remastered reissue.
Beyonce - Lemonade
I am mostly rubbish at spotting samples, but the daughter has just recognised that the intro for 'Hold Up' is a sample of the intro to 'Can't Get Used to Losing You' as sung by Andy Williams.
Who would have thought.

On CD. For no logical reason.
Abraxas - Soltronica Vol. 1

Bob James & Earl Klugh - Cool

Nothing could be finer than chilling on your recliner with, Shida Shahabi - Homes
I saw Shida at a recent Daylight Music session at Union Chapel, so bought the LP.
Music - https://shida-shahabi.bandcamp.com/album/homes
A recent signing to FatCat's pioneering 130701 imprint (previously home to Max Richter, Hauschka, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Dustin O'Halloran, Ian William Craig, etc), Shida Shahabi is a Swedish-Iranian pianist / composer, currently based in Stockholm. The beautiful, intimate and homespun piano of 'Homes' marks Shida's debut release and the fourth in a row of new albums by female-fronted artists released on 130701 this year.

I wasn't familiar with this work till Max graciously filled that gap for me.
