Saw this posted on here a week or so ago. Never heard of the album or even Chely Wright but I thought I'd take a gamble. The CD turned up yesterday and this is my first play. A bit 'country' in style. I'm liking it so far. This lady has a lovely voice.

MDS, I think that was me this is quite a lively I’ve got several of her albums I’ll give the system a work out with this one next having a Amy Wadge session at the moment another lady with a stunning voice.

Then I owe you a 'thank you' for the recommendation, PCD

I don’t think we realise how lucky we are to have so much music at our fingertips that we can listen to prior to purchase all from the comfort of our listening chair how times have changed in this respect.

Old Sea Brigade - Old Sea Brigade

I can't remember who posted this but it is wonderfully atmospheric. These musicians create a mood, never try to impress and in doing so.....err......impress. Weird.

And I swear, I haven't touched a drop this evening.

Glad you are enjoying it. You may want to search out some of their other trax as you may like them as well.

The Beatles - A Hard Days Night. CD rip (2009 remaster).

And this is the sound of Beatlemania. Their growth as a band in such  a short space of time is simply breathtaking. But, where’s Ringo’s track !!!

A few back I played my old CD of this and promised myself I ought to try to get another CD of better reproduction quality. I plumped for this Japanese remaster. I took a while to get shipped but am playing it for the first time this evening. This version is softer than the version I'm used to, which is on the hard side, making it easier to enjoy.

Tidal.  The Moody Blues - The Very Best Of ...   (Mentioned by a forum member, I'm not a fan of compilations but I have to say that this is a good one).

The Beatles - Beatles For Sale. CD rip (2009 remaster).

Back to a mix of original songs and covers (like their version of Words of Love). There’s more of a darker melancholy feel to this album in contrast to the earlier LPs. And Ringo’s back on Honey Don’t !!!

The Sinking of the Titanic. The Sinking of the Titanic is a work by British minimalist composer Gavin Bryars. Inspired by the story that the band on the RMS Titanic continued to perform as the ship sank in 1912, it recreates how the music performed by the band would reverberate through the water some time after they ceased performing.

Impressive ewemon... an obscure artist to most people I think. He's from my town, I'll check out his new release for sure.

One of the best cover versions of Move on Up by Curtis Mayfield I have ever heard.

I posted the video for it awhile back when I posted a copy of the cover for their album .

The above album is not coming out here until early December.

I am allowed to say something about this album even though it is not out until Dec so if you like Booker T & The MG's and Jimmy Smith give it a listen you might like it.

It is out in the States on the 25th Oct

The Beatles - Help. CD rip (2009 remaster).

My first Beatles album bought in the 1980s. Really takes me back to my teens and getting distracted while revising for O levels. Fab 4 back on form after mild blip of Beatles For Sale. And Yesterday is on this album - nuff said. Last one for the evening.

UK first press vinyl. Why? Because 1) Can rule; and 2) this album has "Vernal Equinox" on it.

I remember Naim demonstrating the Credos back in 1996 at the What hifi? show in Bristol. I asked whoever it was at that time to put this CD on - track 8. I was there with friends too and needless to say I ended up buying the Credos on the end of this demo and continued to run them for best part of twenty years!

Those were the days!

Cowboy Junkies - Early 21st Century Blues

Streaming on NAS...........  another album that I picked up recently which I feel deserves more playing time. Released in 2005 with some original music mixed in with covers from Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Richie Haven, U2 and Bruce Springfield. One fantastic album and worth the time to give a listen!

Now playing........

Dave Matthews Band - Before These Crowded Streets

Dave Matthews Band - Before These Crowded Streets

Streaming on NAS.........  falling back 20 years to this 1998 release from the Dave Matthews Band. A fantastic album with horns, strings and some middle eastern influences. Had the opportunity to see the band perform a couple of times in the '90's and enjoyed the performances. Another connection was it was one of daughters favorite band during her high school college years........
