Some Bakersfield country
Hi Res
Just finished this Lightning Seeds "best of" compilation. Saw it on the shelf and thought why not? Some catchy tunes on this.

Paul Carrack - Satisfy My Soul, he has a super voice.
I am enjoying this.
Some might call it a little fluffy, but sometimes all I want is some well-performed fluff to relax to. Mr Carrack certainly has a fine voice.
Thanks for the tip Alan.
Lee Morgan - Tom Cat
- Alto Saxophone – Jackie McLean
- Bass – Bob Cranshaw
- Drums – Art Blakey
- Piano – McCoy Tyner
- Trombone – Curtis Fuller
- Trumpet – Lee Morgan
Posted this cover as I cannot find the covers for the Lee Hooker discs I was playing online.
This set covers some of the trax I was playing but not all.
Fancied a bit of The Sylv. This is the 2003 master, with extra tracks. A real stellar cast on this one - Holger Czukay, Fripp, Sakamoto, Jon Hassell, Steve Jansen, Kenny Wheeler, Percy Jones...
This CD just fits my mood specially on a late Sunday evening after what has been a spectacular autumn day up here in Sheffield - Wonderful album, one of his best.
Electric Light Orchestra - Out of The Blue.
This is the one - the Stan Ricker SR/2 half-speed cut double album. This one was specially imported to the UK from the US upon release, hence the 10p Mecolico copyright royalties stamp on the front cover.
This is by far the best way to hear this album and manages to retain the feel of listening to a reel to reel at times. And of course, the music is wonderful..
Now Playing.......
Cowboy Junkies - The Caution Horses
Streaming on NAS......... continuing on this Sunday morning with some music from the Cowboy Junkies........ and sounding mighty fine!
Very long ago that I played something from Maurizio, correcting it now...
Lee Morgan - Charisma
Another good one from Lee Morgan.
- Alto Saxophone – Jackie McLean
- Bass – Paul Chambers
- Drums – Billy Higgins
- Piano – Cedar Walton
- Tenor Saxophone – Hank Mobley
- Trumpet – Lee Morgan

enjoy/ken
I'm taking a trip down memory lane this evening revisiting the music of my youth. Just popped this on the LP12 and so many memories, still their best album in my opinion and every track a belter:

IMHO I don't think she has made a better album than this which came out in 2015
Ewe, IMHO this is an absolute belter and I have tried to find it but only tracked it down on Discogs but it is in vinyl format only, or MP3 only on the river. Do you know if it is available on CD and where I might find it?
Now playing.........
Dwight Yoakam - Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc. Etc.
Streaming on NAS........ joining EWEMON and taking Dwight out for a spin, this "Bakersfield country" cowboy certainly has the "Texas country" sound, and sounding fantastic this Sunday afternoon!
Playing on Vinyl - Really nice album by English guitarist Gordon Giltrap from 1977.It contains Heartsong which was his big single. A nice mixture of classical guitar and progressive workouts.
The Beat Goes On, the new album by The Zzips, a good little band from the Kent/Sussex borderlands:
Very nice rounded jazz album...
Now Playing........
Fink - Distance and Time
Streaming on NAS........... giving 'Fink' a spin to mix up the music this Sunday afternoon, some fantastic tunes!
From the wonderful The Girl From Chickasaw County box, this is the final disc - that superb Live at the BBC chapter.

Glad you enjoyed it Nigel. Most of his back catalogue is in the same vein and can be a bit similar but it is worthwhile at the right price. He's also excellent live where he can draw on Ace and Mike and The Mechanics material.
Dixie Chicks - Wide Open Spaces, lovely harmonies.
